HTC 10 Owners: First Impressions, Initial Reviews Thread

Does it work though? I can install it on my S7 Edge but when you go to dial it just crashes.

Are you updated? Like, not only the app (obvi) but the phone itself? I only ask because I have the Google Phone app on my Edge and it doesn't crash at all.

Yep. T-Mobile is usually pretty quick about updates and I always snag them when they're available. Let me try again.

That's what it comes down to these days when comparing high-end, generally exceptional phones. However, there is definitely something up with the S7 Edge in that image. I don't know if its their display, the camera they're using, or the lighting they're in, because no way does mine display such a pinkish tone like that. But I digress, aside from the pinkish tone, which even AC touched upon in their review, the auto-brightness and outdoor visibility is a step down from the S7 Edge, and since I spend a good deal outside, again, that was a deal-breaker for me, ladies...
I had pink tint issues when I first open the box. Settings like vivid mode with coldest settings for couple of days did the trick.

Just got excited about the Google phone app. Installed it, made a test call and discovered it still reverts to the HTC in call dialer. Bummer. One of my least favorite things about the HTC dialer is that while in call you can't have the number pad open and access the mute/speakerphone etc. buttons at the same time.

Couldn't you disable the HTC dialer? Or does that completely kill phone calls?

You could go to settings, search for "phone" and Phone App will appear. Change the dialer to Google Phone but problem is when receiving call, I got no ringtone coming out..

That's true and being able to use the visual voicemail right in the app is also MIA which I really miss. Oh well, it's better than nothing as the HTC phone app was ugly as hell.

Has anyone noticed lag on HTC messages app?

Replace it! I have so far replaced the following stock HTC apps...

The HTC phone (bad layout/UI) with Google Phone.
The HTC Messages (it was OK) with Google Messenger.
The HTC clock (no notifications or a way to dismiss an upcoming alarm) with the Google Clock.

I wanted to also add Google contacts which was listed as compatible the other day but now it's not for some reason. Anyway, now that the 3rd party apps are gone after the last update I have a near stock Android experience and loving it.

I haven't tried since it's a system app but feel free to try it and report back...

For those who have a battery drain issue, don't use quick charge if you do not need it. I have experience that charging with regular slow charge the battery drains slower and last longer.

I also believe this... But to add, I believe you can still use the same quick charger, just leave the phone plugged in charging... For example, I just leave it charged overnight and my battery seems to hold its longevity

I'm using the m9 charger and have the quick charge for when I am on the road and need a quick too up. Quick charge is for travellers and not for office people like myself.

Yes, couldn't stand waiting for the words to show, could type a full sentence before anything came on screen. Put up with it and tried really hard to like it,but the deal breaker was after I could not download pictures sent to me.

Kept getting storage unavailable message so it had to go.
