HTC battery thread

i am at 100% awake time, can anyone help me. i have handcent sms.
Download Automatic Task Killer and select the apps that you want killed whenever the screen is locked. You can also add a five second delay. The app will automatically kill all of the apps running in the background and will reduce your awake time. I was at 35% now I am down to 15-21%

Reduce your screen brightness to 20%

I have found that using WiFi has increased my battery life in a HUGE way. All day usage and I get home with 60 or 70% left.

best way to improve battery, is disable wifi, GPs and bluetooth when not needed. Wifi is probably the most battery draining feature of any PDA/Cellphone.

Automatic Task Killer is a great app kill, kills programs that you preselect as the screen turns off.

and

Advanced Task Killer, which you can check quickly and easily what programs are still running and lets you kill those you dont want on anymore.

With those basic things, I can go around 7-10hours without a charge.

I only charged it for an hour my first time, but most people say let it get a full 6-12 hours. It's just he said she said really. I get great battery time.

even running the standard apps in the background(facebook, calender, gmail, weatherbug) i am sitting at around 8% awake time. The eris is truly getting better all the time. I can go a day and a half on a charge. I get aroung ten emails a day, constant sms and weather updates every hour.

Good to know that the Hero battery will work. I was looking for some OEM batteries on eBay but couldn't find any for Eris but found a bunch for the Hero. I guess I can start stocking up. :p

So how is it the Moto Droid gets really good battery life with a 1400mAh battery. It has a bigger screen and the one my mom has keeps going all day with bluetooth, auto-sync, and gps turned on all the time. It's just not fair :mad:

the moto does have a newer OS which may give it better resource handling. My windows 7 setup has given my 2 old laptops much better battery time over their original winXP setups. Hopefully once 2.1 comes out early next year battery will be greatly affected.

hopefully...

oh man i was really looking forward to these coming out. hell 100 bucks for the battery and the cover that is more than I paid for the phone

Looks to me like the 3500 comes with a replacement cover, I don't see where you're getting your 70+30 from, the description states the 3500 comes with a replacement door.

seidio 1750 battery

who is going to order this or the 3500? I know this has been in the forums before but that was for a hero battery that didn't quite fit. This is from seidio and made specifically for the eris.
1750 = $49.95
3500 = $69.95

i talked to the seidio people (their chat online) and they said their 3500 battery comes with the battery door. i agree their prices are high but for myself my phone was free with my upgrade so adding $40.00 to $70.00 is not what i wanted to do but i will spend the money for an improved battery. just my thoughts !!!!
