HTC Desire ROM

Ok found my answer in teh sdk area of google. Thanks for the help everyone. This seems to not been so smooth cause of the Windows 7 64 bit install.

yeah, luckily I'm running 32bit so I didn't run into any of the problems setting up and Android SDK and running ADB.

Yeah seems like 64 bit still is buggy with programs at times. But overall I love the added performance so its worth some of these hiccups. Anyways got everything working thanks all.

I still keep getting errors with the SU request. Has anyone else had this issue. I was downloading rom manager to create a backup so its faster to go back and forth.

Did you reboot it as soon as you logged in and let it sync? Apparently it'll do some wonky stuff if you don't.

I rebooted after running the adb command but I will try to do that again. What do you mean by let it sync?

Not sure how to get superuser app working it just FC's anytime its called. Dang it.

**** If you get thsi problem go back and enable USB Debugging apparently if its disabled SU Permissions has issues.

You will need to flash a new boot.img to get su working its on the bottom of the page you get the Rom from along with directions/

after reading all of this i am going to have to pass this up haha. there seems to be a lot of confusion with installing this correctly with a lot of room for error. if in 2 weeks there isn't a upgraded build then maybe ill give it a shot. im confused just reading all of this haha.

It's to easy read the instructions posted were you downloaded it from and follow them to the t I've installed this with a full wipe un less than five minutes. You just have to know the basics

Bitfix it really wasn't that difficult last night I was reading I thought i read to upload the zip folder this is not the case.

Today my problem was with Windows 7 64bit this caused some issues with teh sdk tools that I had to get a workaround with to make it work. Once I got this everything fell into pieces.

It really isn't that tough.

bitfix don't worry its not that hard and there is plenty of help here if you do need it.

Just Do It!!!

On my first install I used terminal emulator from the market and didn't even use a computer.

Basically how the drivers installed I found a couple sites that helped with the workaround. My machine wasn't picking up the drivers of the phone so I couldn't adb shell into it. The SU problem that you can just do from the phone works as long as you don't turn off USB debugging. I turned this back on then the Super User was working again.

I would just do it that way no need for the sdk then.

I love these features this is easy once I got everything installed I created a clockwork backup so now if I need the 3g for GPS and so forth in the car I can swap back really quick then load this back up. This makes it nice and easy and done in just a couple of minutes.
