htc Evo Stock 2.2 vs Evo rooted with custom ROM and fps unlocked...

My phone has been crashing when i try to use the video camera for some reason.. and the battery is getting killed quickly... I might go back to stock...

I know that its me that did something wrong.. i just dont know what to do to fix it..

Like the other said, make a post on Vaeleks XDA thread. He's really good with problems. Before you flashed the rom, did you wipe data, cache, and delvik?

Yeah, up and down for the past hour or so.

I'm just talking about the clock called "Clock" on the app drawer. I keep getting, "process com.google.android.apps.genie.geniewidget has stopped". I only assume it's aosp because it's not like any clock I've seen on sense.

So that is the app that the beautiful widgets is linked to for mine and I have had absolutely no problem with it... also the beautiful widget connects to the weather and the calendar perfectly well without any Fc's... ever...

Hmm, wonder what I did? I don't remember screwing with anything between not having FC's and then suddenly getting them the next morning.

Nice just read up on the thread on XDA. No wipe needed from 2.0 to 2.1. Looks like I'll be updating soon.

Yep, I confirmed the same.. good news because if it did require a full wipe I'd probably be avoiding it for a bit.

Whats even better than not having to wipe going from 2.0 to 2.1? Vaelek said future updates will be OTA updates

Yeah, I think you can only not wipe if you're coming from 2.0.

Thanks again Jerzy... i wiped my SD card and now its working great !! I got about 22 hours on a full charge.. and I was watching games and texting, webbing... awesome !!!

For those that upgraded to Vaelpak with king kernel #9 and OCd, how is the experience with gaming such as psx4droid or game loft. I'm using Baked 1.7 now and noticed Gameloft games such as Dungeon and Asphalt runs smooth on it. Almost as smooth as my Epic. However psx4droid games still kinda slow and choppy at times.

It's really smooth. 1.3a was smooth too. But once he switched to the Kings BFS kernel it's been even smoother. I'm gonna put together a few videos of 2.1 like I did with 1.3a. You'll see how smooth it is. Btw I'm o/c'd to 1190 with no performs

Great. Thanks for the input from both of you. I may just give it a go. Do I really need to overclock? I really just want the smoothness of the epic and not necessarily the speed.

Got to try Vaelpak 2.1. It seems I have to over clock to get it to be as smooth as Baker 1.7 rom non OC'd. It is fast but just not fluid when scrolling in menus. It pauses at times. Also tried Dungeon Hunter and it wasnt as fluid when you walk around the game. I only installed Dungeon, asphalt, and SetCPU to test. Not bad though but I didn't want to have to OC so I'll stick to Baker Snacks for now. Thanks again guys for the input. Appreciate it.

Amazing to update a ROM and not have to re-download all of my apps and go through the set-up again.....

Just wanted to say thanks to Jerzyiroc for posting this thread in the first place. And posting it in the regular forum instead of the rooting section; I may never have seen it there. After reading through this thread on Thursday, I went ahead and rooted on Friday, and by Saturday morning I flashed VaelPak. I never knew how much of a difference the uncapped fps made until I saw the videos posted on the first post, and then when I flashed VaelPak. I am never going back to stock now. While VaelPak was nice, I am too hooked on sense right now, so I went with baked snack. I love it so far, but flashing new ROM's has brought a new level of fun to my EVO.

Thank you to everyone in this forum who asked and answered questions. I am rooted and loving it, and a large part of the decision to finally do so was because of this thread!
