HTC Jet (HTC Once X) Coming to Sprint

That's what she said ....

Seriously, i miss the wider aspect ratio of my Evo vs my 3D...but it's soooo much nicer watching a flick on either of them vs on my old ipod.

I'd be willing to trade real estate for bigger battery - 4.3 with 3300ma vs 4.7 with 1800ma.....i'll go 4.3 every day.

Even though the Jet/One X has a bigger screen than the Galaxy Nexus, which feels about as big as I'd want to go, it's actually 6mm shorter, and 1mm narrower.

Here are some dimensions to mull over (in millimeters):
HTC EVO 4G: 122 x 66 x 13
Galaxy Nexus: 136 x 68 x 8.8/11/5
One X: 130 x 67 x 9
HTC Titan: 131 x 70 x 9.9
SGS2E4GT: 130 x 70 x 10

Lately when I look at the Galaxy Nexus all I focus on is how huge the bezel is at the top and bottom. The One X has really changed my mind. I was going to get the GN as soon as it came out (April 15), but I think I'm going to have to wait for the One X.

BTW, I got all these dimensions off phonearena.com

I've got the Galaxy S Blaze here right now, and I tell ya, 4 inches is kinda nice.

I think that is the sweet spot. Weird that HTC and Sammy don't use that dimension with a very thin bezel more often. A thinner and lighter EVO 4G would even be close to ideal for Sprint IMHO.

I love HTC Sense, and I love HTC's build quality.

However, I'm really disappointed that this phone will not have the Tegra-quad-core processor, as others have said. I can't imagine upgrading to a 1.5 dual core, from a 1.3 dual core, when I'll be stuck with it for 2 years.

GSIII might be my second Samsung phone (after my terrible run in with the Instinct) I've ever had. I just hate Touchwiz, and I love Sense... ugh....

But everyone is saying this is going to be a 1.5 S4 ours is an S3 and that the speed will be equivalent to a quad core. Is that not true? I still want it.

I was recently schooled about this - the S4 dual will be as good if not better than the tegra3. besides, that chipset doesn't play nice with LTE so it's a moot point.

Keep reading the same thing that is why I am still getting it. I don't like the fact that you can't swap out the battery though. If it's going to be another EVO brand then let us have extra betteries and don't be like the one-X.

I would love it to have 32 and a changeable battery that would be so cool! It has to be better than the One-X and the best out there keep up with the EVO name and great specs. I wish they would bring back the kickstand but if Seidio has a good case again than I'll get it.

I doubt the entire design of the phone will change for one carrier. Not saying it isn't possible, but I wouldn't hold my breath, either.

He was more talking about a removable battery. That ain't happening.

And that's why I'll have to find another manufacturer this time around. I HAVE to have a removable battery. I can't make it through the day on one.

Not to mention all of the times I made fun of iPhone users for not having a removable battery. Not sure what HTC is thinking here. Too bad.

If this phone does come to Sprint, I really don't care if the battery can't be removed - I'm sure they made it like that for a reason.

My concern is..I would prefer a 32gb SD card to a 16gb anyday. :)

Yeah I was thinking today maybe I would have to get the Seidio Vault Charger thing if this doesn't have a removable battery. Hopefully they will have a 20% off coupon here again soon at Seidio. But I really wish they would make it different and not be like the one-X make more of an upgraded EVO removable battery and give us 32 gigs if your not gonna give us an sd slot. But I'll take 16 still more than what we have now with the 3D.

They are making them with a non-replaceable battery for their bottom line. It assures them that the phone will be out of service sooner than if the battery was replaceable. It will be hard for you to sell a 1 or 2 year old phone if the battery wont hold a charge, and Verizon, Bestbuy, etc, will alter or eliminate their trade-in programs. In the end, it means your phone will be worth less sooner.

Just got the following e-mail. Can't confirm anything, so I'll just put it out there:

Our HTC rep come in today and showed me the new phone that Sprint will be announcing April 4th. The phone is to be called something like HTC EVO ONE and be released June 6th, here is what I know about the phone...

  • 4.7 inch, 720p Amoled screen
  • 1.5 dual-core krait processor
  • 2650mah non-removal battery
  • 16GB internal memory + micro sd card slot
  • Android 4.0 with 4.0 sense
  • 8 megapixel camera with 2.0 front facing
  • LTE, beats by Dre audio

Phone is black, & red and has a nice Evo 4g look to it, super thin and feel solid in your hands. Phone also has a kick stand about 1 inch under the camera, seems weird but actually works nice.

So a couple thoughts here. ... The Krait proc isn't surprising, since int'll be an LTE device. That's a much bigger battery than what's spec'd on the other One X's, right? So a thicker phone? 16GB of storage? Booooooo. AMOLED display? That's different than the One X, too. Kickstand? Eh, OK.

Thoughts? I'll be at the launch event next week.
