HTC One Advertising!

Well, anyone watching the Champions League matches couldn't possibly miss them.
HTC ONE everywhere.

This is a good point. It doesn't really make sense to advertise something that doesn't have a firm release date, or much stock. People would just be left waiting, but most people simply wouldn't, probably.

People are used to waiting. HTC needs to be generating some buzz. People don't want a phone they've never heard of. Think of it this way... Joe blow consumer walks into the store to get a phone. There's the brand new nice looking htc one. They think to themselves the phone must not be that great because I've never heard of it. I know the galaxy is good because it's on TV all the time...

Agreed. I've seen the name all over European Champions League sidelines and in BPL matches for quite some time.. Not to say they've done a stellar job, but soccer fans have probably at least seen the name

I haven't seen any. I'm going to be moving from an iPhone to this device, but didn't even know it existed a couple weeks ago.

Out of curiosity, where are you guys (stating that you haven't seen any adds yet) ? I doubt they would run adds in before the phone launches in that region.

I don't see the point in spending some of their advertising budget before any carrier employees have even heard of the phone. I walked out of an AT&T store today. I went in to inquire about transferring from Verizon. I told him I was waiting for the One before I switched. That began a rather agressive back and forth in which he insisted the phone they sold (One X) was the phone I was talking about. It ended in me walking out in the middle of his sentence as he was assuring me that he'd never come into my place of work and................

Honestly I was floored. This was my first glimpse into the confusion that will inevitably result from HTC's choice of "The One" as a product name. But my point is why advertise if sales people can't correctly inform customers when they enter the shops?

I watched a local news segment called Tech Now earlier today for Ottawa Ontario, Canada. They had a segment on cellphones comparing the Galaxy S4 with the new Sony model coming out, I was highly disappointing that the One wasn't even mentioned in passing, never mind compared.

Last Friday I went to the AT&T store & was able to talk with store manager, she has had her training, which leads me to believe that associates will beginning theirs.

And IMO - a teaser ad on HTCs part, would start a buzz. Besides us, not many know about this awesome phone!

The point is due to HTC's recent sales history, it would behoove them to get their product in marketing channels as soon as possible. HTC doesn't have the luxury of waiting. They're broke and recently downgraded to a lower tier product by suppliers. HTC desperately needs to get the public familiarized with the product and keep its attention until launch. If the store reps are not familiar with a product that was supposed to have landed in their hands this month, well that highlights another HTC/Sprint failure.

Seen this (well, the English version) on TV the other day...

HTC One commercial highlights BoomSound feature - YouTube

It has alsoappeared in a music video, can't remember which one it was but I had never hear of the person/band before so not really a big deal.

I have viewed this ad a few times but i have yet to see an Ad on tv.. but then again i DVR everything and skip commercials. On a side note if they wanted to get to the tech community i would say talk to microsoft about Advertising on xbox live because sadly there are tons of ads on the dashboard.

This ad is being aired regularly on UK Sky channels. Noticed it several times the last couple of days.

So as we come close to the launch i wanted to hear the various places you have seen ads for the HTC One! So far i have only seen one on the sidebar on youtube and one came up in my facebook feed

Jmo but I think their relying way too much on word of mouth. And that next big flop - think that got started over on Twitter. I've noticed HTC will post a tweet & then it gets read tweeted over n over n over.....

I can understand HTC not launching marketing campaigns until a little before the phone actually launches in a region.

But non-tech people know that the S4 is coming. And that's going to hurt HTC.

If HTC wants ANY success with this phone, outside of the techies, they will need to ***** this phone out. It's the best smartphone of 2013, and pretty much nobody will know about it. *sigh*

Just saw the new G.I. Joe movie and there was a promo showing off the speakers.
