HTC One Advertising!

Just left the movies, Olympus Has Fallen & I seen the HTC ONE on the silver screen. It was boasting on the speakers. I can't flipping wait!!!! Feel in love all over again. With the phone, not Butler. *TIC*

Talk about a coincidence, I actually watched 300 today. What a great movie.

I've seen the HTC First commercial 10x already on TV..

But in the meanwhile HTC is promoting their device in real life on the streets touring..

i dont think ive seen a commercial for an HTC device other than the one for the rezound that had everything exploding in the background. its kind of like the marketing for the nintendo wii u. i bought one on launch day and i never saw a commercial for it until a few weeks later and still dont see much about it. it also has a confusing name to a normal consumer. "wait didnt an htc one x just come out or is this different? why is the name the same?" i havent heard that but i wouldnt be surprised if that happened.

So as we come close to the launch i wanted to hear the various places you have seen ads for the HTC One! So far i have only seen one on the sidebar on youtube and one came up in my facebook feed

Unfortunately for all the designers and engineers at HTC - none of them have any marketing experience. It is genuinely disgraceful that this could be HTC's Palm Pre. People disagree about the Pre hardware - but few disagree about WebOS being incredible. And Palm still died. Remember just how bad the Pre marketing was? The bizarro Sprint redhead commercials? Anyway, HTC has built a truly unique phone - unmatched IMO in both form and function. And crap for advertising. Good work will only take you so far. The rest of success is self-promotion. This is true for any person/company in any line of work.

Exactly. You've seen HTC First ads because Facebook is promoting it, not HTC.
HTC One ads should be in front of all of us everywhere we go.

There's not anything more in the AT&T stores than a table display. No banners/posters/giveaways. Shameful.

Out of curiosity, where are you guys (stating that you haven't seen any adds yet) ? I doubt they would run adds in before the phone launches in that region.

Is that a serious comment?

I'll bet Samsung runs tv commercials in every major market (for their phones) before any S4, hits any display, in any store.

Um yes, it was a serious comment. What is the point of advertising more than a few weeks before the device releases? Why run commercials in the US if you can't buy it, or at least preorder, here? (doesn't matter if its out in EU or anywhere else). I've seen several HTC One commercials on TV and I haven't seen any S4 commercials yet, just sayin'.

To raise awareness... Because many people plan their upgrades... Because if you don't generate any hype it's hard to sell phones... Because everyone else is advertising and you look inferior if you don't...

Even Samsung hasn't been advertising the S4 yet. Most products don't start advertising prior to the release unless it's a Superbowl type add. And not that many people actually plan out their upgrades, only people really into phones do.

Come on man, that isn't how advertising works. Product promotion before launch is incredibly important. Why do you think Apple has an event to announce a phone and available date? So they get tons of free advertising from the media and so they get gigantic lines at their stores. If we all just woke up one Friday and Apple had a new phone for sale they would get none of that.

I've seen exactly zero commercials for these devices, but I don't see commercials as I'm a cord cutter. I did see some HTC One stuff while watching soccer, but that's about it.
