HTC one goes to airplane mode on its own !

This is killing me! Wish I read this before I bought one! My phone cuts to airplane mode during calls all the time. I told my network provider, they sent me a new phone (same model) in case it was a faulty handset, it's still doing it! I have emailed HTC direct, no reply yet, has anyone had any joy getting a different model/make from network provider as a result of this fault or an update from HTC that can fix it?

I have tried with my network provider and now with HTC direct, neither seem to recognise that this is an issue - apparently no one has ever complained about the issue before. They have suggested a soft reset (the old turn it off and turn it back on again - cheers) and replacing the sim, as apparently a damaged sim can also cause these sorts of issues - failing that you are to contact them online (HTC chat) get the phone into safe mode and try making calls them with all apps disabled as this may be effecting the phone - I think you're explanation sounds much more likely, have you been through these steps, can you help substantiate the diagnosis, is it possible that we've all downloaded the same app that is causing this hyper sensitivity? Also does it get worse over time for anyone? My new (replacement) handset plays up maybe once every 10 calls or so the older one did it much more often....

The same thing happens to me. While I'm on the phone, usually holding it against my ear using my left hand, the device goes into Airplane Mode and drops the call. I have had it happen many, many times. It's terribly annoying, but now I press the button on the top to make the screen go dark. That way it can't accidentally go into Airplane Mode.

I have exchanged the phone 3 times and it had happened with each one.

Thank you SO MUCH for this thread! I thought I had the most agile ear ever or that my new HTC One had to be replaced - but I see I am not the only "lefty" with the airplane-mode-while-talking-problem. Just wished there was a permanent solution to the problem.

Thanks for the validation. I too am left handed and my HTC One is always going into airplane mode when I hold it against my left ear during a call. So frustrating. Anyone have a solution or something to disable in the phone? Thanks.

My HTC One S also switching automatically to airplane mode, saying sim card not detected. After rebooting it seems normal. But happens oftenly. Fed up with it. Any suggestions..??

Hi, i m using HTC ONE X since 5-6 months 15 days ago my phone suddenly got off to airplane mode im trying to put on but it cant i even formatted my device but no change its still the same its my best device i like the more ever please show me some manually ways to how i can resolve problems myself please...
