HTC One M10 design leaked in photo

If the M10 really looks like this, then I am down. I will miss the boomsound speakers, but I miss Blinkfeed and the HTC Sense more. I like my Nexus 6P, but I prefer the Sense UI. I also love HTC as a company and I believe they make the best designed devices..

Just happened across this thread, so apologies if it's been gone over already, but you'll actually be getting Boomsound speakers. HTC has created a dual speaker system with a combination of a bottom speaker and the earpiece speaker + some technical audio magic. The Desire 825 has this same setup, hence the no pictures of the front at MWC, and we've heard from a couple testers so far saying it sounds great.

I have a full writeup of everything we know so far here if anybody is interested!

3,000mAh battery will be fine if it can get 20+ hours. The SGS7e which has a 3,600mAh battery will last me 26-28 hours with 4 hours of SOT, which I find amazing.

Tick tock.... Tick tock.

I am ok with LCD or AMOLED as, which was said above, we get GOOD OST. I want an efficient system that allows me to use all the goodies that the phone has to offer without having to throttle anything back. Thats my key for my next phone. S7e put a huge battery in to address it. HTC does (TBD).

Ill say I am getting less "bent" about the shape/presentation. Those renders look kinda nice. The "button" does not seem so intrusive.

So, so far I have laughed...I have cried...I have come to terms. What I would like to see is non-gray based coloring but not going to bet the house on it.

Come on already! Reason I say this is my DNA is now running neekid (no case) because I am having charging over heating issues. The phone battery is done and I am just nursing/milking it to see if the 10 is worth the risk or become sheeple.

EDIT: I am curious by those renders how the screen covers (tempered glass) are going to work?

I'm anxious too, we all are. But HTC needs to worry about one thing, and that's releasing the best phone possible. I don't mind waiting, so long as they're spending their time constructing a phone that'll take them off life support.

I'm definitely loving what I see so far. I like the metal build (which I was never a fan of prior to my 6p) and the USB-C, but aesthetics mean little in my book, so there's still a lot of question marks. I've always liked Sense so I'm anxious to see any changes they made.

And most importantly, I want to see the quality of the camera and battery performance. If they can nail those two, and deliver a great user experience that runs fast and smooth, I'll be all over it.

And IMO the aesthetics are amazing. No front branding is huge. I can care less if it resembles any other phone, it looks awesome, and I'm digging the front home button with FPS. It'll be my work phone, so I'm not looking for something identical to my 6p, but I do like a minimalistic approach which the 10 seems to have.

I am worried about having an SLCD screen. I hope that HTC makes it at least as good as the iPhone's display. If it is worse, then this will be a dealbreaker for me.

All I know at this point is the panel will be made by Sharp and people who have seen the M10 say the screen looks great. If made by Sharp it may be an IGZO panel.

It's promising that the few who have commented on seeing it have said it looked great (screen wise). Additionally, if HTC can even match the screen quality they had on the One X / Evo 4G LTE, they'll be in pretty good shape just with that. The M8 almost attained that, but lost some degrees in every direction viewing angle wise.

A QHD version of the One X display with today's 2.5 D glass and significantly thinner bezels, would look absolutely stunning. Even more so with an IGZO boost if that pans out.

I never had the One X - that had a better display than the One M7 and One M8?

Honestly, if the screen in the HTC 10 were as good as the M8 (even if it were 1080p) I'd be happy with it. Screens are so good these days, you won't find a flagship with a 'bad' screen.

The more I'm hearing of the HTC 10, the more I'm liking it. I'm pretty confident that it'll be my next phone. Seems to tick a lot of boxes for me.

HTC needs to throw me a personal bone here. My DNA battery is caput...its now overheating all over the place. HTC..gimme a sign..otherwise I am going to have to buy one next week. I am putting this off far..but I am just not so sure the ol' girl will make it....

[reality check] I know HTC wont say anything for little ol' me; its just I am right on the ragged edge of being forced into a decision. :-) [/reality check]

Maybe a placeholder until the HTC 10 shows up...

...don't shoot me.

Got this picture from twitter, could you choose between captative buttons or these, is this for 'the new boomsound'? Or is it photoshopped?

I honestly don't think that it is photoshopped. Way too much going on for it to be photoshopped. Being able to choose between capacitive buttons and on screen buttons gives choice and that's a good thing. I hope it's true. The reveal can't come soon enough.

I also do not think that it is photoshopped, but I disagree that having both is a bad thing. The argument of choice being good falls apart because that choice could be extended to having a physical keyboard, or to having an extra charging port (USB C and Micro USB (A)), or to having a fingerprint scanner on the front and the back - all three of my examples and the presence of two different forms of navigation buttons all are, IMO, design detractions that would show a lack of intention and focus. In 2016 capacitive buttons are pretty much inexcusable, as they became unnecessary in 2011, HTC has made at least 3 generations without them and so going in to the code in order to add this legacy feature is not only bad design, but is creating an opportunity cost that is inexcusable given the lack of alternative features that could have had those resources were the bad choices not pursued. I'd much rather have HTC be very specific about their intended design and spend the time and energy (and thus money) to execute on those strategies, rather than this shotgun approach - if that's what we're seeing here.

We will hopefully get some clarification regarding HTC strategies during their unveiling. Since some people complain about losing screen space with onscreen buttons and other people complain about capacitive buttons this may be the only solution HTC could come up with to please everyone. At least with this it is not changing the form factor of the device.

Agreed. I am of the camp that if the space exists (to the left and right of the FPS) then I would rather have capacitive buttons there and more screen space. To me (my .02 worth .0001 nanocent) the on screen Home, Back etc buttons look like they came from an Atari 2600 space invader game. The busy screen above doesn't look to bad but there is a "space" between the bottom of screen and top of FPS. *pondering chin rub*
