HTC One (M8): Bluetooth streaming skipping beats.

Re: M8 Bluetooth streaming skipping beats.

I'm guessing the thinking is some app is running in the background interrupting the music which should not be a factor but may be the problem. Never had this in any other phone I have owned.

Ah OK. That seems plausible. And that would just be a software bug so hopefully fixable soon.

That is what I was guessing at and a guess is all it was. I'm just not having that issue but I don't run a whole lot of apps and I keep facebook and other apps that sync on a regular basis set at low frequency updating in order to conserve battery and because they're just not that important to me.

That would be nice if it does. And hopefully soon. BTW nice car:)

Thanks, I just updated my avatar on here to it - 2013 Camaro 2SS/RS.

Happens to me too and I realized when my pebble watch is connected it would do skip. As soon as I disconnect my pebble every thing worked fine.

Interesting, I do use a Pebble but I haven't tried streaming without the Pebble connected because it worked fine on all my other devices. How many people that are experiencing the skipping are using one?

That's really interesting. I use a pebble. The next time I have the problem, I will turn off the pebble and see what happens.

Re: M8 Bluetooth streaming skipping beats.

i have a 2014 Chevy Cruze LTZ and the music skips really bad through Bluetooth. I'm so pissed. Ive tried everything.

Re: M8 Bluetooth streaming skipping beats.

I have it sync'd with my Ford Explorer and no issues to report.
Pretty much if I'm in there car its streaming a Stitcher Podcast, Pandora One or Google Music track and I've not had any issues with skipping. I don't know if it matters, but I do leave a 2A charger in my car so if its streaming I leave it on the charger so it's not running pure battery, but that's it.

No issues to report.

ONE NOTE: I am not running stock T-Mobile software. I'm running the ARHD 5.0 ROM.

I occasionally get a skip when streaming Google music, but I figure it was the Google music app and not bluetooth.

That was on my 2012 Toyota Camry it was fine..just got a new 2014 Chevy Cruze and bluetooth audio SKIPPING like crazy...CANT FIX NO MATTER WHAT I DO..IM PISSED
I had that happen once using music from Google music player. I just shut Bluetooth off and back on and it was fine. No more skipping

Might not be the same thing but I've noticed skipping only right after I initiate a BT connection and then try to start the audio source right after I get the connected notice. It is as if BT hasn't buffered yet causing continuous skipping. I mitigate by pausing the audio source for a couple of seconds then firing up again, fixes it every time.

Verizon and HTC just released the update today!!! just downloaded it so i will test it later on to see if the issue has been resolved... If not I will be going over to the Samsung S5...

I'm guessing this will be the fix.

Mine is skipping though the earphones. Giving me the absolute ****s because my GS3 did not have this problem. Just skipping a beat. I thought maybe it was the SD card but i switched that out and it is just a little less noticeable. Does it about 2-3 times every song.

They better fix this

It's the SD card that is causing the skipping through the headphones - I moved all my music to internal storage and the problem went away. It was driving me nuts also. I blame Samsung as it was a Samsung SD card :)

I have a brand new SD card that I was going to format in the phone and see if the problem persisted but with 32gb I probably don't even need an SD card.

That happens to me on occasion, and every time it happens if I turn the phone's Bluetooth off then on again it works fine after that.

I been using the Poweramp app. I just made audio highest priority in the audio tweak settings and it has seemed to stop skipping. Have not noticed any side effects either.

So it's fairly easy to reproduce on My Chevy Volt. I just start Bluetooth music streaming and then hit the power button on the Volt and turn off the system. I then turn the Volt headunit back on, and voila, the Bluetooth struggles to reconnect and eventually becomes unusable.

I have had my phone for 3 weeks and it music skips about 50% of the time.

Same here.

I have 5-6 different pairs of Bluetooth headphones and had used all of them on different occasions with Samsung GS3 and GS4. instead of going for GS5, i went for M8 since it feels much sturdier.

Latest update, no weird characters in phone name, all headsets worked perfectly with my Galaxy devices.

The issue is there when the phone is in motion. Personally, I ride my bike to work and back. The Phone is usually In my pocket, hip position. Music stutters. I put it in a small satchel, hip position. The music stutters. Side pocket, knee/hamstring positioned, music stutters. But when the phone is on e.g. table or any stable surface for that matter, no stutter whatsoever. Feels like the gyroscope is somehow connected to the issue (at least for me, that is).

Super frustrating, cashed up 600+ euros for a phone that won't let me listen to music and enjoy my bike ride. Talked to HTC support, the dude was "unaware of the issue" and told me to just "endure and hope that it will be fixed by the next system update". I am infuriated and disappointed, to say the least. My first and definitely the last HTC ever.

Anyways, I'll be watching this thread occasionally, in case someone comes up with a solution.

Re: M8 Bluetooth streaming skipping beats.

Mine does this too. I really only use Play music all access and it doesn't happen all of the time. It seems like it will randomly start skipping and it's super annoying.

I have noticed that if I keep the screen on it doesn't do it. Maybe it's a power saving thing? Like the bluetooth goes to power saving mode when the screen is off or something.
