HTC One (M8) camera discussion

This is the case with most people complaining about the camera. You are at least smart enough to come to that conclusion!

while i agree that a lot of these problems are user-error, it sure would be nice if the camera interface was just a bit easier. to get dazzling shots, being a camera guru helps immensely.

By the way the ufocus thing can be very good (other times it just doesn't really work) The picture of the cat is again straight from the camera with no processing other than putting the focus on the cats head. Also I could never get this quality of light with the s4. I also have a feeling that image stabilisation is no longer an option as it's on all shots because the low light shots are never blurred for me (they nearly always were with the s4 image.jpg

OK here are the sample pictures I said I would post.

First set are from the S5.
I think the forth pic was the best. The fifth pic had some kind of double image. All seem to have some kind of focus problem. The orange color on the far back wall is way to orange.

Second set from the M8.
I think overall they turned out pretty good except a little overexposure on the first 2. The orange color on the far back wall is more accurate from the M8 (this is closer to what my eyes saw).

Remember that all pictures from both the M8 and the S5 are in the store. Both phones have the security cable attached so I could not move very far, but both were about 5 feet apart from each other so the angles should be about the same. Both are normal setting. The M8 focused faster and better in these conditions.

I also like blinkfeed and Zoe's. Apparently they are coming to the Play store as separate apps at some point in the future. And the boom sound speakers are pretty cool.

I think the things that put me off the M8 are the lack of removable battery and the fact that I'm partial to Samsung devices. I'm glad that they put in an SD card slot though. The design is stunning, even better than the M7. I can't comment on the camera as I've not used it personally. I think all cameras have their quirks though. It took me a while to learn how to use the camera on my note 3. I was getting a lot of blurry pics but now I've tweeked the settings and improved my technique! I'm getting good pictures, well apart from in low light but I accept that. I like tinkering with this though. That's part of the fun.

I think if I didn't have a galaxy phone HTC would be my next oem of choice.

Just to add another pic I took today.
No matter what people say about the camera's failings there's no denying the amazing macro capabilities.

It's a good camera I agree. The problem seems to be everyone is going to extremes in defending or attacking it. It's not the greatest thing since sliced bread nor is it the worthless camera many are bemoaning as the worst thing made since Battlefield Earth was made into a movie.

I don't care what kind of phone you have, that's not how I judge someone's worth or intelligence.

Nice mvp, what atomizer (tank) are you using, evod? I used to work at a shop that sold the crap out of some ecigs. I use a high end rebuildable genesis hybrid mod, Zenesis 2 Altus.

Nice, I didn't know there was an evod2. I hear ya on being thirsty, it's a pretty small tank. I would highly recommend an Aspire Nautilus tank. It's a bottom dual coil 5ml glass tank with adjustable air flow. It's $40, but it's really good quality, my girl uses one and loves it. I was really impressed with the quality and flavor

Happy vaping!

I don't know why people think 4mp isn't enough? Just look at this picture, perfect color accuracy, amazing white balance, the resolution makes it so clear! I just don't understand?

This is awful, Skyway. I just can't see enough of your FINGERPRINTS! :P

I know right? I wanna see individual cells!

Btw, this is my friend's hand. I was showing him my new phone so he wanted to test out the awful deal breaking camera

Yes the One does macro shots are great. The 4mp excels with this type of photo. That is why almost every photo is this thread is a macro or a close up type shot. Any photos past 20 feet this camera falls apart quickly.

There are ton of pictures here that aren't macro or close up, and they look great to me

You know that isn't true. Check out the actual photo share thread and some of the beautiful city photos people have taken.

How could we ever test the utterly stupid assertion that "Any photos past 20 feet this camera falls apart quickly."?
Oh I know!

Yep, falling apart quickly...

These are just a couple from my walk downtown Chicago yesterday. Stupid me forgot I had the incandescent setting on so most of my shots turned out blue like the first one. The rest I didn't post are of me and my girlfriend which turned out great as well, with both the front and rear camera.

Edit: kind of looks like Tapatalk compressed the pics a bit...or maybe its just me...idk how do they look to you guys??
