HTC One M8 having difficulty with HTC Sync Manager after Android 6.0 update: HELP! What do I do?

I have the HTC One M8, and about a week ago I updated it. I have the Android version 6.0 now and the HTC Sense version 7.0. Now whenever I try to plug my phone into my computer and use the HTC Sync Manager, it will not recognize my phone. When I look at "My Computer" it does show my phone as an option, so I do know that it is not my computer - but the sync manager that is simply not connecting to my phone. Something that is new with this update is when I plug my phone into my computer, my phone gives me several options (i.e. Charging, File Transfers, Software Installation, Tethering, MIDI input, and MirrorLink connection). I have tried all of these options, and none seem to work. Please help!!!
