The HTC One M8 has a hard time with white and yellow in outdoor lighting. This yellow is too overexposed

The M8 takes great shots indoors and does with with close up and macro shots. However, photos outdoors I get mixed results. A lot of the times, whites, yellows and other bright colors get too overexposed.
You can view all the photos I have taken with the MTC One M8 here: https://flic.kr/s/aHsjWWKCTP

You should try out HDR mode for those types of shots. I've had really good results with it not blowing out well lit areas
Edit: I can see someone else recommended this already, they beat me to it lol

Losing track of all the camera threads on the M8 forums, anyone would think it's controversial
Anyway,
Insanely fast autofocus.

Yea, I'm appreciating the fast focus more and more every day and realizing that it's a huge advantage this phone has. I'm so used to snapping doubles of everything because most cams just don't auto-focus fast enough and holding them by hand causes blurring as well. With the M8, when I go to delete the doubles I notice that multiple shots are almost always identical in quality and I rarely have blurred photos. That, and the low-light abilities have already captured a few precious moments that would have been lost with any cam I used in the past.
Totally agree. The fact that the the pixels are bigger coupled with a larger aperture mean that shutter speeds can be much faster while maintaining the exposure. This in and of itself should make the M8 camera much more versatile than anything else currently available. I just find it hilarious (am even talking about you AC) when people point out that the M8 allows a lot much light, as if this could ever be a bad thing. You can always increase shutter speed, stop down, or decrease sensitivity (ISO).
You may prefer it - which is totally acceptable, but that doesn't make the camera any better. I've been a photographer for the better part of the last 20 years and I can safely say that the lack of detail and off-center sharpness aren't caused by user error in my case. The camera is mediocre at best, even when compared to last-gen devices such as the Galaxy S4 or the Nexus 5.
I love everything else about this phone, though.

I took this picture last night and I was amazed at how well it came out. An illustration of the sweet spot for this camera.
The only edit was applying the uFocus effect after shooting: https://www.flickr.com/photos/96228372@N06/13737738323/
Shockingly good and I'm a pretty serious hobbyist photographer.
