HTC One M8 won't turn on, stuck on flashing light and battery with lightning symbol.

Turned off phone while it was at 1%, not sure if it overheated or died before turning off completely. Went to go check on phone while it was charging for at least an hour and it was stuck on the flashing orange light and the battery with a lightning bolt on the screen. I've already tried the holding volume up and power button for 15+ seconds. Same with holding down instead. I've both volume buttons and power for 5 minutes, no change. Tried everything with and without charger in. I'm doubting there's anything else, but do you think the store I bought it from could transfer storage to a new phone?

They will replace the phone for sure. But you can atleast try to do something. You will need to wait till your phone is charging if you want to manually put new system. There is a lot of tutorials on youtube, you can check: "htc m8 soft brick fix" or something like that

It sounds like it's just not charging. I would recommend trying a new charger before you look at any other options since chargers are cheap and you can buy one right now and have an answer within an hour. If it's not the charger, take it to the store and see what they say.
