HTC One = Total Fail?

The data is in the sales numbers. If people actually cared, the iPhone wouldn't be increasing it's sales reach.

Again, feel free to post the data backing up your claim. If you want to assume something is true, that's one thing. Saying someone is WRONG without proving it, is another. I would love to see your data that proves someone else is wrong based on your silly opinion. My opinion is that the Utah Jazz is the best NBA team to cheer for. But i'm sure a Miami Heat fan would disagree. I can't call them wrong, because it's only my opinion.

Sales ALONE does not prove your claim. I am not disagreeing with you about the battery, because I don't have a major preference either way. I am just tired of seeing people act like their opinion is gospel truth and not backing it up with actual data. Sales numbers could mean any number of things. You are twisting them into 'proving' your opinion. That just isn't an accurate representation.

Every iPhone user wants one

Really? Every iPhone user I know is hyper defensive, and their heads pop when they see my 5.5" screen and stylus. They go into attack mode.

Take a trip to a kids' party in the burbs sometime with a Note 2. It's an experience. Nonconformity is not appreciated.

I agree completely, but I don't use cases on my phones, so styling/hardware feel is a larger part of my considerations for a device.

If you're not using a case, that makes sense. I haven't gone without a case since my BlackBerry days, so hardware is really secondary for me.

HTC One TOTAL CAMERA FAIL. 6-way blind camera comparison: the results

Simply dreadful results echoed by other reviews. Money quote

"Behind the Phone #3 codename was the HTC One, which didn't really impress many of you with its UltraPixel camera. The smartphone finished in fourth place in the outdoor category and sixth indoors, while its video capturing skills got it fifth place."

Hard to dispute blind testing like this.

I wonder if they turned the low light setting on the S4 for the indoor shots. They my have just started shooting without adjustment like it was an iPhone. The low light setting makes a remarkable difference on my Note 2.

Also, there are no flash shots. The iPhone has very weak flash. I was out one night, and a guy asked me if I would turn on my flash so that he could snap a pic with his iPhone. He told me otherwise it wouldn't come out.

But I'll have to to otherwise give the iPhone it's just due. Its camera is supposed to be really good. Too bad it has so many other drawbacks.

Anyway, for purposes of this thread, the HTC seems not to have fared so well at all. It would seem to support your earlier claim that the HTC One can't match the S3's camera, let alone the S4's.

So you want a phone with a battery bolted to the outside of the frame? :p

Nope. None of the content in my post was intended to imply anything one way or another about what I personally do or do not want in a phone. The only thing I intended to imply was that simple claims of fact, such as "it can't be done" are often wrong, and I wish people would stop making illogical points with them.

My response was tongue in cheek, no offense meant! I agree with what you said, especially the bits about sd cards and removable batteries being useful (necessary as some claim they are, that is debatable), and about the build material not by default making it a strong durable phone. (gotta say that drop test kinda unnerved me).

Completely agree with you. Battery life will be...****ty just like all other HTC phones. Unless you root and manage to get more hours from that non removable battery. HTC FAIL BIG TIME. Samsung Galaxy S4 here I come as soon as it's available on Verizon.

You need more than 48 hours of battery life?

Sweeping generalisations FTW...

Au contraire :-

I couldn't be happier with the battery life on my stock HTC One. For my type of use, which please understand is not your type of use, the battery is absolutely amazing and is far better than my iPhone 5 battery life.

Sales figures alone do in fact prove my claim. If people cared, the iPhone would have been a dud and we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Durable and high quality yet dents so easily?

Samsung phones are more durable, they drop, but no damage to the body.

sent from the best smart phone (not phablet) on the worst network- the galaxy S III unfortunately on T-Mobile

That's a laughable claim. Samsung phones dent, scratch, and break as easily as any plastic phone out there. Claims of the superiority of plastic are not supportable. The only reason Samsung uses it is because it's cheaper for them to produce.

There's more to an iPhone than battery not being removable. You've yet to provide any sensible data to justify being prideful and rude.

You should talk about "supportable claims"

If a removable battery was as big of a deal as some members in this thread claim, iPhone sales would be affected by it. They are not. There is plenty of data in sales figures alone to support the fact that customers plainly don't care.

Your condescension is neither appreciated nor appropriate, so stow it.
