HTC One X ATT Version bugs thread

Well, my return window ended today, so I took the phone back yesterday. The store did not have any more replacement phones, so I switched back to my BlackBerry 9900 for the time being.

The constant dropping of service, email not syncing, texts not notifying me, and all the other bugs just made it too hard to live with. It's a shame too, as I really, really like the phone.

Perhaps I will try the GSIII when it comes out, although I think I prefer sense over touchwiz.

I'll keep an eye on this forum for an eventual software update to see if it addresses the bugs.

So i've had the one x for a day and a half now and i like a lot of things about it, but i swear its a schizo. i'll be holding it normally, in portrait, and the screen will just swing to landscape forcing me to shake it to get it back. then it does it again. it also just randomly enters Car mode whenever it feels like it. during calls it switches to speakerphone, then back, and forth, back and forth. any one else have weird stuff like this going on? for the record, i did a factory restore and these issues persist.

Switching to speaker is s feature. You trigger it normally by putting the phone face down.

If you are sure you are holding the phone with the top power button higher than the bottom, and not horizontally, it should not rotate the screen.

If it does rotate, and switch to speaker randomly, your accelerometer or gyroscope may be defective, and you should take it back.

But before you do, try the G sensor calibration in settings under display and gestures section.

Intermittent wifi connectivity... Un connecting and reconnecting seems to solve this.

[

I just got the OTA update yesterday. Now, after this update, my Wifi disconnects every time the phone screen is off. This is particularly annoying because everytime I disconnect, I've got to re-log into Airdroid.

Anyway to stop the wifi from disconnecting when screen goes off?

Double check your settings under advanced, "keep wifi on during sleep " and make sure it is set to Always.

Yes, I already did that, but it didn't help; wifi still goes off after the screen is off for more than 20 seconds. Unfortunately now, I've got to set the screen to not sleep if I need to stay online for downloads or using airdroid virtual desktop.

Before the OTA update I didn't have this problem. The new update did manage to somehow, give me 10 extra gb of storage!

Now just fix this wifi issue and I'll continue to love this phone!

This seems pretty daunting to a newbie who's contemplating making the switch from an iPhone.. And I suspect it has to do with the release of a phone that wasn't tested to the degree it might have been prior to release.

Seems to me there are TONS of problems with both hardware and software and when I see comments like "I'm going to return this phone", it certainly doesn't instill confidence.

Anyone hear LOVE the phone?

Muahahahaha.. Muahahahaha..

Yes, I love this phone. The One X is by far the best smartphone I've ever used. Before the ONE X, I had the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for only 3 months (upgraded to the One X). Before that I used the HTC Nexus One for two years (another great phone in it's time) and the iPhone 3GS for one year.

Repeating Tasks in the task widget show the date as YYYY/MM/DD, regardless of how you told the phone to display the date. While HTC confirmed this is working as designed, it is designed wrong so it is a bug IMO.

I received a post-Customs handset and I have had very, VERY limited WiFi issues, nothing like you guys are experiencing. It's maybe disconnected once in the past three days, and I've tried multiple hotspots. The speed is lightning-fast too: my home WiFi is slow as molasses but my HOX gets a much stronger signal than my Macbook Pro.

The weirdest issue so far? I was at a banquet in Niagara Falls and I kept connecting to Bell and Rogers instead of AT&T. The weird thing? The Canadian border was 5 miles away!

My WIFI works fine now. After the last OTA update, the WIFI would drop sometimes after the display was off, but now the WIFI always stays on unless I shut it off.

This was the only major issue I was having with the One X, but now it appears to be resolved.

My data dropping issue appears to have been solved after upgrading to 1.85 but it appears that I have another one. Many of my incoming calls are not coming through when I'm on the LTE network and are going straight to voice mail.

I live in the heart of the LTE service area and always have 4-5 bars. After looking at the diagnostics screen, the phone goes from LTE to UMTS (3G) whenever I place or receive a call and the CID (cell id) changes to a different one. Also the logo on the top of the screen changes from 4G LTE, to 4G.

Is this behavior normal? I want some more information about how other phones are behaving before I call tech support again. The first agent I talked to said that this was normal.

I haven't missed any calls. But I can confirm on my phone when I am on a phone call the icon changes from 4G/LTE to just 4G.

I need a helping hand with something

I seem to have a curious problem and would love a suggestion.

My One X is about a week old. The sales person said that my phone was part of a recent shipment. And it appears the phone came with OTA update already installed.
All was great until yesterday.

I did a hard reset. Now I am back to losing WiFi when the screen goes to sleep.
Yes I have checked the setting to verify it says keep WiFi on when in sleep: Always.
It's almost as if the OTA update "fix" did not survive a hard reset.

So I am back to WiFi disconnecting when screen sleeps.
Any suggestions?

Maybe a better set of questions would be:

1. Have any of you done a hard reset AFTER getting the OTA update?
2. If yes, does your WiFi still stay always On after the screen goes into standby?

I got visual voicemail on my HOX via A&TT here is what I did:

1) Had AT&T turn on visual voicemail at the AT&T store, was simple.
2) Went to play.google.com and searched for "AT&T Visual Voicemail" and did a push from the website to my phone. The app didn't show up on the phone's play store.

https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...roid.vvm&feature=search_result&token=ai54v7mm.

Now I have visual voicemail without any 3rd party hacks etc.

I figured out the htc one text notifications bug. its caused by att messages app. its the only visual voicemial app avaiable and it takes over the text notifications.

Uninstall the att messages app and the htc text notifications with led work again

I guess we can either have visual voicemail or text notofications but not both. this sucks!!!

I've been postponing the 1.85 OTA for a while to conserve root. I decided to bite the bullet finally and when I hit update, htcdm force closed and the update was cancelled. I was happy that it was cancelled, but has anyone else had this issue?

Yes that happened to my partner on the separate occasions and this past Saturday ,6/16/12 he said it finally installed.

Photos did not appear in gallery when copied to phone. When i went to a file explorer and changed folder names i could see the pictures back in the gallery. No such problem with third party gallery application.

I use you mail and it works well. Also since the update I have been getting all messages right away. Pandora works great , The only thing still spotty is WIFI.
