HTC Software update available incl. Menu button fix

Does anyone else think that the sound has been improved? This could be placebo but I listen to a lot of music and think it sounds better. It sounds like they tweaked some of the beats settings and I've noticed that vocals and tracks are less muted.

In the stock browser, my notification bar keeps dropping down then going up. Don't really know how to explain it. You know how the browser expands to full screen by hiding the notification bar? My bar drps down every couple of seconds, attaching screenshot to show you how the bar is covering the top if the browser.

Anyone else see this?

Seems something else changed in the stock TASK MANAGER widget, the information about memory FREE vs. USED is different. It used to be USED and FREE, but now it is FREE and TOTAL.

What good is total?

This is what I've gathered from today's update. I might mention things again from previous posters, but I'm typing everything down from the top of my head.

Menu button is now optional, Recent button acts as three different actions, Task manager now shows total of ram 1024, Beats audio has on/off switch only... (I'm sad about that change since I use the other pre set equalizer in my car), 3g data speed is noticeably faster, wifi disconnect doesn't exist for me anymore.

This is my first posting so I hope I've helped. I plan to add more once I make more findings.

My stock browser has always done this, but not every couple seconds though.

I loaded it this afternoon. Easy Peasy!
I think the screen looks a little "brighter" somehow, and it is overall "snappier" to work with, NOT that it seemed "laggy" before. This is a great phone, made more refined with this update!
Yeah, I can't wait for Jellybean, but ICS is still really great. Sense 4.1 doesn't "get in the way".

Ahhh already found a bug with Sense 4.1..

If you go to settings and start scrolling down, as soon as you hit the edge, the accordion animation isn't smooth at all..it sort of just explodes into the accordion animation. If you don't take your thumb off and start to scroll back up, it will start collapsing smoothly, and as soon as they all touch, it will jump back up a few inches...annoying

Can anyone else confirm that their phone is doing this?

Sorry man, my phone is definitely not doing what you described.

If i scroll all the way down at first, and then start scrolling back up, it will be fine. It's just if i haven't reached the bottom or top yet, and start to scroll to the end, instead of smoothly doing the accordion animation, it will just explode into 2,3, or 4 separated menu items...

If it is just my phone doing this..is there a way to re-install the update?

Sorry, I cannot confirm. Mine is behaving the same as it always had.

I see what you mean. When you hold your thumb on the side of the screen and scroll all the way down without removing your thumb.

Edit: if you are are about 2/3 from the bottom of the list but still cannot see the bottom option, which is "About", and begin to scroll all the way down with your finger on the side you can experience the "accordion" effect with only a few options selected that will space apart.

HTC Medialink HD performance is much snappier, not like it gave me any issues, but buffering is completely gone, even at 1080 res

I seriously doubt 3G speeds are affected at all by the update. That is most likely just coincidence or a recent tower upgrade in your area.

The speeds if anything for me went down. I saw ppl posting that they saw improvements so I did a test before updating and ever since after updating I haven't been able to achieve higher speeds. :banghead: but yeah I highly doubt this update did anything in the speeds categoty. Just bad luck I guess right now.

Two fantasy football drafts in 24 hours has me late to the party, but after reading through the thread while the upgrade was downloading, I can definitely say that screen transitions are smoother. Dare I say it, a bit more iPhone like in the animations. Screen rotation doesn't have that ever so slight hiccup anymore.

The lock ring on the lock screen doesn't get stuck (also it's now silver instead of yellow/gold).

The font for icons on the homescreens is either smaller, sharper, or reformatted as the full text for longer app names show up in full where before they were clipped (leaning towards the overall pitch of the homescreens being finer here. Icons seem a bit smaller too).

The app drawer, "time app," (I suppose native Sense stuff) has neon green as the highlighted item now. Swear that's a different color.

If you use the big people widget on the homescreen, it scrolls infinitely more smoothly now.

Google Maps refreshes much more quickly when panning to a different region.

Capacitive buttons definitely don't make the phone vibrate so much you think it will jump out of your hand.
