HTC Sync

Anyone having issues w/ the HTC Sync program that comes w/ the phone? I was able to load it my PC properly, and sync it once - so I have all my contacts and calendar from outlook. Since the initial syncing, HTC Sync doesn't recognize my phone for some reason. It does show up on my computer as a removable drive, but just doesn't ever connect to HTC Sync. Any ideas? Anyone else w/ similar issues? Anyone know of a 3rd party program that can sync outlook calendar/contacts/etc. w/ android?

Make sure you've unmounted the device before you run HTC sync.

So let's say I didn't unmount it the first time...what would be the repercussions of that?

Not sure. I don't think you could have sync'd it while it was mounted. I hit the same problems saturday while I was fooling around. Make sure it's unmounted in Windows, then unmount on the device itself, then sync should run just fine.

It worked again...the fix: I switched to a different miniUSB cord. I plugged in the one that came w/ the phone (i was using the one that came w/ my camera) and it popped back up, synced no problem.

Oh wow. Thanks for that tip! Just reproduced the same thing with my camera cable. Guess I'll have to keep things seperate here

I'm not able to use this software as I run on Macs and this only works on Windows.
