I emailed them 2 days ago when I read it in the Samsung forum. You can mail them yourself if you don't wanna take my word for it.

First off, HTC has confirmed that this marketing pamphlet is fake, concocted by some site called pricebaba, secondly 5 bucks buys you a 1 and 1/2 inch USB OTG cable for plugging in whatever extra media space you require, and is easily forgotten in the pocket. Highly recommend you compare the screens in person before you decide, you're going to have the thing for 2 years man.

The GS3 also has USB OTG support.

So... While I still think your suggestion sound absolutely ridiculous, the One X is still a non-starter. I'm a big fan of multi-tasking (in the normal human sense, not in the technical sense) and there's no way I'm going to walk around with that P.O.S. hanging out of my phone when I can just put my SD Card (which I already own, and would cost nothing - zip - nada) into the other device and just use it. All I'd have to do it just put it in the phone before first boot and all my media is going to be there, with tons of space to spare on the card.

The GS3 seems like a No Compromise solution compared to the One X.

I think the Camera is fantastic on the One X, and it's why I'm scrounging this forum trying to find reasons to buy it since I have the cash literally sitting in front of me. But the storage issue is very real and a huge roadblock.

I hate TouchWiz and vowed to never buy a Samsung device again after the Vibrant [GPS, Update, Lag, etc. etc.] debacle, but I'm willing to be a complete hypocrite for that MicroSD slot.

Screens are a wash. PenTile is almost invisible at those densities. I've seen the Galaxy Nexus screen. It's really not a factor (the GS3 screen is better than the Nexus, even). If we were talking about something like the Droid Bionic then I'd agree, but it's simply not something I'm concerned with. Sound Quality, Storage Expandability, Battery Size, and Power/Data Plan Efficiency means more. Plus the GS3 technically multi-tasks better than the One X.

Sounds like you should get the SG3 or the international version of the HOX with 32 gb of storage.

IMOP the SG3 has some problems, the display for one and TW is really bad on ICS from my experience. Updates well good luck hope you enjoy ICS because it will be along time before Samsung updates the phone. Has the US seen an ICS upgrade?

As far as the screen is concerned, you will notice the difference, and if it matters to you, you will be sorry for having bought the Galaxy S3.

On the other hand the low non-expandable storage is huge challenge, especially if you shoot HD video. Drop Box alleviates this limitation to a certain extent. I decided I wanted the best large screen on the market and the One X's outstanding camera so I accepted the storage and battery limitations.

I'm an iPhone user currently, but looking to get an HTC One X from Rogers in Canada as early as next week. It's basically going to come down to what other iPhone users that have switched to the One X have to say, and what iOS 6 has in store on Monday. If iOS 6 is a disappointment, and there are a lot of good things said by ex-iPhone users than I'll probably make the jump and ditch Apple.

One thing I'm hearing over and over and over is 16GB of storage space isn't enough apparently, and the battery isn't great, but that may have been addressed in a recent update. I don't understand how 16GB of storage isn't enough for the average user. I have a 32GB iPhone 4 and even when loading it with video podcasts and hundreds of songs, I'm still no where near 1/2 full. Not to mention all the photo's I take on it, and video. I don't install a ton of apps, a couple games, some utilities, and a couple social networking apps is all. Currently on my phone I'm only using 1.9GB of storage. I bought a new iPad in March and opted for the 16GB WiFi model because I realized after getting my iPhone 4 that 32GB was WAY more than I needed.

I work in an office all day, so I have access to wifi there, and when I'm home I'm on wifi. I can have the phone plugged in while at work if need be. I think that some people are making "issues" out of nothing. With free wifi being so readily available in coffee shops, or even most restaurants now, I don't see how Dropbox wouldn't be a decent solution for storing some of your files on. Not quite sure what you people are doing with your phones that requires that much storage.

Making issues of nothing is about right.

Yes HOX has some problems. So what?
All the chest thumping! All the stomping off in a sulk!

But name ONE Samsung phone that hasn't had some problems.

I got the international version, which would work in Canada too. No LTE near my area, and UMTS/HSPA is plenty fast enough.

And that's my point. I don't think it matters what manufacturer puts out the device. People whine and complain about storage capacity and battery life. There are a ton of people saying they're going to sell / return their HOX for the SGS3 when it comes out. I can't wait to see the number of threads that pop up with people whining and complaining about the battery life and how they wish they could go back to their HOX (or other device) or are going back to it. A lot of these issues will get resolved via software updates.

I've heard that the average user will get 13 - 15 hours of battery life on the HOX under normal usage while jumping between LTE and WiFi connections. That's more than enough for me. I don't know when I wouldn't be around an electrical connection I couldn't use for a quick bump for more than 13 hours. Honestly.

Look at Apple. They release the iPhone 4, people whine about battery life. It was addressed in a software update. Then they release the iPhone 4s, same thing. Then the iPad 3rd Gen, same thing. I'm pretty sure that if a company released a phone with 24h of battery life under average use, and 512GB of storage, people would still complain that the battery dies to quickly and there's not enough storage.

Don't be fooled. The difference is quite noticeable. There's a good comparison video on Engadget.

The storage limitation becomes an issue when you try to record your daughter's graduation in HD or if you like having your entire music collection on your phone.
By the sound of it you would not any problems at all.

While it is true that the PenTile display in the S3 gives a barely slightly bluer tone (which kinda sucks, although the reviewers at Engadget said they acclimated to it within a couple of days to not even being able to notice it anymore), it shouldn't affect the crispness at that high of a resolution.

And there is a silver lining to the S3 being AMOLED over LCD (liek the HOX): Just like it is with older LCD TVs compared to newer LED TVs, blacks are darker in the S3 when watching video and playing games, and battery life in the S3 kicks the pants off the One X when doing intensive tasks like video recording, streaming, and gaming.

CNET did multiple labs tests which showed that, at the same settings while streaming HD video over WiFi, the S3 lost 32% battery while the One X lost about 70%. Here's the link:

Yeah, don't usually watch movies while I walk around which is what I use the little OTG for. Only really use it when sitting on a bus, or the one time I've been on a plane. And the GS3 doesn't support OTG out of the box from what people are saying. I like OTG because you can have as much storage as you can plug in, even 150+ gigs, not just 64. If you don't like multitasking in sense, flash a custom Rom, it totally restores it to normal. And the screen isn't pretty much the same, it's totally visibly worse to the eye, I can tell you from comparing my phone to an international S3. The GS3 is dim, significantly less sharp, and so over saturated it turns low light scenes in pictures and movies that display fine on the One X totally black over the entire screen. Try watching a dark movie and you will just give up.

Look, here's the deal. If you're a mainstream user, the lack of an SD card and the lack of Intense multitasking installed stock on the phone probably won't bother you one bit. If you're an advanced user and use mass amounts of storage and do tons of multitasking, you should be able to flash a Rom/use OTG for heavy storage to suit your needs.

No, just wrong. It doesn't just give you a "barely slightly bluer tone" It over saturates to an inexcusable extreme. Watching a dark movie is literally impossible, it turns the whole screen black. I've seen it myself. But here, see how much it over saturates and turns to black, even where there is no darkness at all.

And it does effect the crispness and clarity. Quick lesson. HTC's LCD contains each each color inside every pixel, creating a crisp image. Amoled has each color spread out next to each other one color at a time in a pen tile matrix, creating a fuzzy image.

And on top of it all the GS3 screen is significantly dimmer. So feel free to buy an S3 but don't try to convince yourself or others that the screens are pretty much the same.

BTW, took a bus to vegas on monday with my buddy. and his phone lasted maybe 20 minutes longer than mine, both of us were watching movies the whole way. Now he did have the International, the U.S. version probably uses less power with it's snapdragon.

You'll notice the difference in screen quality immediately. The pentile issues ARE noticeable, especially next to a display that's actually high quality.

That still doesn't change the fact that pentile-based AMOLED is an inferior technology to ANY LCD product. Even the HD resolution cannot overcome the issues of pentile because the pentile HD is NOT TRUE HD! I owned a galaxy nexus prior to having that piece of crap swapped for a RAZR Maxx, and I can tell you as a fact that the HD SAMOLED display is inferior to any other HD smartphone out there.
