HTC tells you why its better than SGS3

If you wanted a balanced discussion you would post something like "HTC One X vs GS3 comparison discussion." You wouldn't post fake inflammatory documents with an equally inflammatory thread title. I think YOU need to look up the definition of trolling.

Generally if you're a GS3 fan posting pro GS3 rhetoric in a One X board you're a troll. If you want to do that there's an S3 board just for that purpose. The same goes for One X fans trying to assert themselves on the Sammy board.

Fair enough, I don't know the definition of trolling, and you don't know the definition of a straw man. And to be honest, your definition of trolling also doesn't cover the debate going on here, because the Biff is not trashing the HOX, just saying that S3 and HOX are both good phones, and refuting some of the more extreme comments about S3 in the discussion. He wasn't being inflammatory, and last I heard, debating merits of different devices was something people did on forums.

Regardless, your original statement, that posting something positive about an S3 in a HOX section of a forum equates to trolling (even though Biff was in no way blasting the HOX), doesn't say much about the state of Android discussions.

And for the record, I also don't have a dog in this fight either. Both are great phones, but they are just that. Phones.

Pretty sure going on about how it's almost impossible to tell the difference between screens, and that the clarity and crispness is just as good on the S3 goes a lot farther than "refuting some of the more extreme claims about the S3" I also don't have a dog in this fight as I have own phones. If you read some if his comments you will find them quite disingenuous. And I think what you meant to say was didn't know the definition of a straw man. Past tense.

Battery lasts all day = LIES

You shouldn't have to do all of that to get a good life.

Also the gs3 looks better.

The US version of the One X lasts longer the the US S3 in numerous equal tests. Apparently this has something to do with touchwiz's poor battery management. I have both phones and my One X usually lasts longer than my S3. It certainly lasts all day. And as to which phone looks better, that's purely a matter of opinion. However, almost all reviewers and most users seems to think the One X looks better though, and has a better build.

Tried the one x, the battery definitely doesn't last all day, neither does the EVO lte and it has a bigger battery.

I don't see the appeal to the one x visually speaking.

It's built battery but doesn't look better

GSIII is too delicate

My One X lasts all day easy. It gets more screen on time than my S3. There are plenty of tests showing One X vs S3 battery life. I've only run into a very few people whose one x doesn't last through the day. If you take a look through this board, just about everyone gets AT least a day's worth of use.

You may not see the appeal of the One X's design, but you're definitely in the minority.

Yeah but the people who get a day's with of battery life, when you post the screen shot they don't really use your phone much at all.

You can look at the screen time and see that lol.

Show me a phone with some real screen time that lasts all day.

Not saying battery life isn't better than the gs3 - it is - but that whole day line is a lie from experience. There is no REAL reason not to have a removable battery. Or even an sd card slot.

At least they somewhat wised up with the EVO lte. Now THAT PHONE looks better than the gs3, only problem with it is that flat black and the shiny black back cover. Should have just been one single color

Most of us use our phones normally, taking calls, checking mail, looking at the web.
That does not require many hours of screen time.
If you send your day gaming no phone will serve your needs.

If you seriously need to change batteries mid day you need an external power supply, not a replacement battery.
Switching batteries every day, then switching back again in the evening so you can recharge both batteries is just
Nonsensical.
Stop swapping batteries and get an Anker.

I don't have to switch to charge the other battery, just use the external charger.

External power supplies are typically bulky and cumbersome. It's much more practical to put a small battery in my pocket and switch it out when needed. Takes up a lot less pocket space.

Switching batteries to get through a day makes plenty of sense.

Thing is when you actually USE the phone the screen will be on.

Web - screen
Texts - screen
A game here and there - screen
Skype - screen
Everything requires screen.

And I don't just send a few texts and emails, I really use my phone.

If calls, email, and web are all you do then you could have gotten a hero or something like that instead of wasting money on a high end phone. It's like buying a Lamborghini and only being able to drive it in a school zone.

With light usage, I've seen the original EVO get 24 hours of battery life. I've done it myself.

NO PHONE will get 24 hours of battery life if it's being used. The razr maxxx May be the exception.

My one x gets WELL over 24 hours when I only use it for calls, or to check something on the internet a few times a day. I usually get 28-30 hours, with the screen using 40 percent of the juice or so.

AND my external battery is the same size as the S3 battery.

To be honest though, your One X isn't really a One X anymore is it?

My point exactly, you're by your own admission battery using the phone.

Why bother with a gs3 if that's all you're doing with your phone?

I use mine and getting 12 hours on one charge is impossible unless it's just very light usage

I said WHEN. I get the more screen on time than my S3 when I use it intensively and when it's drained, I have my 3000mah bank, that's actually a tad smaller than the S3 battery. Since with CM9 on my One X, it actually is way smoother than my S3 and has perfect multitasking, I pretty much never have a reason to use it and it's fugly screen.

With cm9 how are games? I noticed with CleanRom they lagged way to much and after I exited a game the phone would freeze. Same issue on cm9?

Cleanrom is sense based. It's basically sense with most the bloatware and sense skin sucked out. Cm, or AOKP runs perfect, I play games every day. A One X with CM9 is basically a better galaxy nexus.

I have a OneX and love it. Only thing that disappointed me was that Radio Shack told me I would get 25GB of Dropbox space only to find out that ATT is not participating in the Dropbox promotion.

I recently did a battery drain test on my One X the other day under heavy usage. I got over 6 hours of screen on time and the entire battery lasted way over 15 hours. I'll post screenshots later on.

.....But good on them for working with AT&T to ensure the phone uses as much data as possible. This whole DropBox thing will probably push enough people 1 byte over their cap to secure AT&T some extra funding for their LTE build-out.

This is exactly my thought whenever I hear of phones having no micro SD storage. Anything to make another company more money.
