HTC tells you why its better than SGS3

I have owned plenty of phones most HTC. Can someone explain what makes the HOX more than just the new Android phone of the season.. A new nice screen and a new processor... And what else? The GS3 offers features not to be found on any other phone the motion features separate it from the HOX... Screen stay.. Smart alert.. Video picture in picture.. And more.. Tell me something the HOX does that the GS3 doesn't please.. Plus I keep hearing about multi tasking issues, lag and freezing... Look HTC has always been my favorite from 6700,touch, touch pro, Dinc, tbolt.. But I'm not seeing it compared to the Gs3.... Tell me something new please

People ate talking about carrying around external hard drives as a solution the the HOX lack of a micro sd slot? Seriously? And bulky battery packs?

I'm an HTC guy. Have the bolt and the Inc before it. Never cared for Samsung, but, in my OPINION, this is a no brainier. When I travel I need a second battery. Period. I also want all of my media on an external source so I need a micro sd. Since HTC did away with both there is no decisions to be made to me. With the siii you can get a 32gig version with a 64gig sd and have a spare battery or 2 ready to go. If you travel a lot and are a heavy/power user and are in to media, the siii is just more practical.

All of that being said, I'm on Verizon so I don't have the option of an HTC One and since they are the only carrier to lock the bootloader on the siii, it much less appealing as well! I did get the siii for my wife and I was very impressed.

There are external batteries smaller than the S3's battery, so it's not like you're carrying extra bulk. Most people don't run out of battery anyway. And you make it sound like carrying a flashdrive for when you are out of network range is so terribly inconvenient. My bic takes up more space in my pocket for goodness sake. You people ragging on the HOX are biased hypocrites. You guys go on about the SD and battery, but if somebody brings up the subpar screen on the S3 you all go into denial mode. The whole "needing to convince yourself and everybody else that you have the best phone" rants are kind of old. I have both phones and they are both awesome. One is not better than the other, it's not clear cut.

Subpar compared to the HOX, yes. Subpar to the new atrix, yes. Subpar to the iPhone, you betcha.

Samsung has been treading water on screen technology while the world passed them by. SAMOLED just isn't good enough anymore.

This. And besides that, while many screens don't have the same resolution, there are over dozen or so that have more accurate color reproduction. It may have deeper blacks, but the colors aren't accurate and are MASSIVELY over saturated. There are several phones out right now and there will be 7 out by the end of the year with equal resolution/more accurate color reproduction. Even the budget Atrix HD is better. That's not to say that the S3 doesn't have a great screen. It really does. But there are tons of devices that have better color reproduction that you can use at full brightness without risking screen burn in.

The HOX screens is better. But its not THAT much better in my opiinon. And the thing is, it has been my experience that the average joe prefers the saturated colors. It looks better to the masses and they are the ones that really count. As shown by sales. ;)

Sub par to the ipone?? Oh come on!! lol. There aint one single person that i would show the GS3 side by side with the iphone AND they pic the iphone screen over it lololol.

I don't think it was the over saturated display that sold the S3 so much as, oh I don't know, the fact that it was available on all carriers and had decent advertising. If you have some data showing average joes voicing their love for AMOLED displays over accurate color reproduction, I'd be delighted to see it. For me the HOX display is better to such an extent that I rarely ever use my S3.

Well, I can only tell you the opinions of people I associate with and have come into contact with at work. Some have smartphones and some don't. No one disputes the brilliance of the the HOX screen, but they just prefer to look at the prettier colours of the GS3. That just how it is.

And yet we still haven't heard anything the HOX does better than the S3. If all else fails, pound the screen issue until they get tired and give up. Nobody is attacking anyone personally, they're just voicing opinions about a couple of phones. Its okay that maybe this time, HTC might have come up short.

basically.

And I always hated Samsung phones, EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM I had before this one was support glitchy after the first month or so.

A few flip phones, instinct (aka the it stinks), played with a friend's moment, epic 4G, all glitchy.

I'm knocking on wood hoping this phone doesn't follow in Samsung's history of glitchy phones but so far it works well

Both of them are just phones, it's a matter of opinion on which one is better. I for one love my One X because I love sense and the camera on it, I've had a bad string with Samsung (went through 3 Captivates) and decided to try out the One X in store. 5 minutes later I got the One X and never looked back, its all preference. GS3 is selling better because its equal on all carriers and has better advertisements. When HTC Two X comes out they just need to focus on one phone for multiple carriers instead of three different ones, and work on more gimmick-y commercials. That's my .02?

Personal preferences again. I would strongly have considered the SG3 if they had launched on the same day for it's removable battery and sd card alone. The HOX came out first and I had an upgrade and had months and months of problems with my SG2 Skyrocket (documented in these forums) with texting so went with the HOX. I personally used an Iphone 4s for a few days because I personally think nothing compared at that time it was launched to its screen. I opted not to keep it because of the small screen size and dropped calls. I am a female and screen is just personally very important to me. I owned a iPad 2 and paid to upgrade to the IPad 3 and it is beautiful IMO. After comparing side by side in the store recently, I personally think top screens are Iphone, HOX and Atrix HD. If I were buying today would I still have chosen the HOX over the SG3, perhaps not, but I personally still (IMO again) think it has a better screen.

Last, the one thing In addition that i can think of (though there could be others) that the HOX does have over SG3 is Beats Audio. I do enjoy that with my jawbone Big Jambox.

Really dont know how if given the choice based on screen alone how you could choose the iphone:confused:. The HOX over SG3 Maybe.... But as you said, to each his own.Fair enough. However what upsets people is when some people say the GS3 screen is teribble. Which lets be fair here is not true.

I'm no lawyer but I still haven't had my question answered... I'm still reading tons of subjective opinions which... Hey we are entitled to... But I think my point is made... The GS3 screen is not subpar..

Some people like me like the saturated colors on their phones...

!!! And most importantly no one can tell me what the HOX does that the GS3 doesn't!!!

I like the HOX a lot its my 2nd fav right now.... it's just after so many phones I'm now looking for innovation... More than a new screen and the new hot processor.. Samsung gave you features that no one else has... Apple will do the same I'm sure... That's what separates them now.. My Dinc & razr can do everything the HOX can period... HTC is working hard on hardware.. Yes... On software they're just stagnant.. Sense has some nice tweeks but it ain't doing nothing new it just looks better.. Same ol widgets from the Evo, Dinc, tbolt some new screen transitions and that's it...I've had time with the HOX the screens best attribute is how it's raised up.... But the picture doesn't blow the GS3 away..

I guess since Michael Jordan is the best then Kobe is just Subpar.... Lol.... Smh

I chose the Iphone 4s when it launched before both the HOX and GS3 were out, because at the time I felt it was the best screen. As I say after a couple days the things that bothered me trumped that in that particular phone. I completely agree with you that although I tend to feel the HOX has a slightly better screen I don't feel the GS3 is poor by any means.

HTC > Samsung.
I hate Samsung phones.
AMOLED makes colors too saturated/neon-like & I just can't stand that!
Not to mention every Samsung phone I've had (original Epic & a brief stunt with the GS2) all has radio issues. Always say I'm roaming, but never once did it say I was roaming on any of my HTC's.

Idk maybe I'm just weird lol but I just can't stand Samsung phones.
