The HTC Thunderbolt has had rough start in my opinion ever since it delayed launch.

List of problems and missing features:

OTA Update Issue
Battery Issue
Netflix missing
Skype missing
Sync Issue
GPS Issue

A HTC Thunderbolt "2" is unlikely their be phone . Verizon supposed be first flagship LTE phone seems to be more test device for future LTE phones. Compared to the EVO it did not make president on it's launch day.

What's next with LTE phones?
How's the Thunderbolt doing?
Will their be a Thunderbolt 2?

We are at the end of Spring and being of Summer. Verizon will be finish off the LTE phones they promised and flooding us with sequels of the Droid line Up. I am sure we will see the Galaxy S2 to finish up Verizon's sequel summer.

A HTC Thunderbolt 2 is safe to say there won't be second. The HTC Thunderbolt seems to be more of test device for Verizon. Then the flagship LTE phone that Verizon makes out to be. The phone did not make a president like EVO did an again doubt there will be Thunderbolt 2. Those what will be next LTE devices hitting winter may be? Getting to end of Spring and being of Summer looks like Verizon will finish off the LTE phones they promised. Then the Summer looks filled every sequel possible to there most popular devices.

Sorry, your post is too hard to follow. I don't even know what you are saying.

The device has been out two months and, as we can seek from the recent leak, HTC is working to get Gingerbread on the ThunderBolt. Things will get better. When you get new tech like the first LTE phone, you have to be willing to deal with the inevitable rough patches.

As I do agree a bit with "NotJustAPhone" I would debate that we should have to deal with the rough patches. After the delay with this phone and how long LTE has been out, it has been some time now, this **** should have been taken care of before it was released. It's almost like they released a "beta" product out to us with a 250 dollar price tag. The ONLY reason I got this phone was to be grandfathered into the 4G plan so I don't have to pay extra later on. Do I think there will be a TB2? Nope, but there will be a ton of other phones in the new future that can handle LTE, hopefully better.

I can understand you frustration but to be honest I am coming from an iphone4 (AT&T) Network, my initial plan was to jump on Verizon Network and get another iphone due to it being the best IMHO, but when I purchased the TB I couldn't take it back, I was supposed to be test driving it lol , but the speed and all the things I could do blew my mind, it's like I was let out of prison (figuratively speaking lol) I know this phone has a lot of issues some bigger than others, at one time I was going to cancel my account because I basically couldn't use my phone due to the battery issues and rebooting, well V tech support helped me by sending me an extended battery and the reboots stopped(don't know how) but am happy they did. What I am trying to say is no matter what phone I get I know I will run into some sort of problem and instead of me always trying to look for the next best thing I am willing to give Verizon a chance to fix this, after all it is their first 4G phone and we all knew that we would be the test subjects that's just how it goes. I agree with you that V told us we would have Netflix and the others but to be fair we also knew before the phone was released that it would not be on it, so it was our choice to go with it or choose something else. I know this phone will probably piss me off again lol but as of right now it's the best phone Verizon has (that is of course MHO:) I just hope the issues get worked out sooner than later.

Well I am not frustrated or that is not the way was coming off. Sorry I did not edit my post before hand. What I am just saying is the phone has issues and seems not be as grand as was planning to be. Also I was trying say it doesn't look like there will be second Thunderbolt in future. To be honest I think all Verizon first batch of LTE phones will end in several month then in winter they will come out with whole new batch of LTE phones. The only one that looks to have some promise is the Droid Bionic if does not run into any more familiar issues like the Thunderbolt has and still is. The one thing most interests to know is how well Thunderbolt is doing. I mean Thunderbolt has not been big hit it seems.

We might not get grandfather in there in no guarantee I don't think. Yes I know we have contract but Verizon could change the data plans and get away with allowing us to get out of our contract. T-Mobile did that all time those grant it was for minor billing changes. So I not so set that we will be grandfathered in until the time comes.

So, the TB is HTC's Storm1?

Hi bunique,

I think the droid bionic will be a good phone as well, but as for the TB, it has been a bumpy road (putting it mildly lol) and yes it will be considered and old phone just like many others, but im a noob and tired of chasing the next best thing, I am still trying to learn this phone:) I truly believe that these issues with the TB will be solved, maybe im being too optimistic.

There better not be a 2. I swear from what we've seen sequels to phones hardly hold any new if any form factor. They should leave this one alone.

This is not a bad phone. Got mine on a 1 year contract, so I am okay with using it for 10 months. Around that time I am sure something else good will come out.

It's the tech envy issue I have...j/k. I like the phone regardless of the problems and the problems will be fix eventually. Verizon and HTC have lot phones coming online as well LTE growing rapidly I guess is causing a hold on updates and fixes for Thunderbolt.

I wish HTC did not have make this phone so difficult for the CM Devs to crack and put CM7. I want to see how this phone runs with out HTC Sense and as well Gingerbread. CM7 seem to improve phones battery life considerably as even more responsive device. If it does I could careless about any other device until I able to get an upgrade.

I am hoping on Nexus 4 but how things are looking th Nexus 3 will be an LG so Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 will be either Sony or Motorola.

Most of the issues I've had with this phone I've learned how to work around through this forum. Maybe its because I'm coming from a blackberry curve, but in general, I'm impressed with it

I... don't think there will be a "Thunderbolt 2", for the sheer fact that HTC typically doesn't make many "_____ 2" branded phones. The Incredible 2 (and I guess the Evo, if you want to count the Evo 3D and Evo Shift, though they're not actually numbered) is the only one that I know of. Any other time they put out a new phone, they just give it a new name. I'm sure they'll probably make other 4G phones for Verizon, but they'll be called something else.

Video Skype is working for me. Tried it out last night with good results for 3G.

You didn't edit this one either. This just sounds like another "bash the Bolt" from a user that clearly has self induced problems using the phone. I am becoming more and more convinced that users having trouble with the TBolt either simply don't know how to use it properly, have screwed up their settings beyond belief and refuse or don't know how to reset and start over or are techies/hobbyists that push every device well beyond the scope of its intended function and will never be totally happy with any phone (if they were they would be miserable).

Why have I never had a random reboot and believe me i am paranoid enough to check my awake time and running apps several times a day, get 15-18 hours of battery with normal use in a 4G market, and my GPS locks in less than 10 seconds every time since the OTA. This is a great device, call me a fanboy if you like but I am a very happy camper.
