Huawei P20 lite randomly turning off and setting to lowest brightness

I’ve had my Huawei p20 lite since Christmas and while it did sustain some water damage in January which led to the screen being replaced it has work perfectly fine again until this week, a couple times earlier this week my phone randomly turned itself off however yesterday and today it did both that and set brightness to a level that made it hard to tell if it was even on I managed to fix it yesterday on my break but it occurred again today, all I am able to identify is parts of my background and that I have a system message but I am unable to turn brightness up or use my pin to unlock my phone.
Any suggestions as to the cause and how to fix this?
