Anyone else out there who can't get theirs yet?

I've gone through every possible option available to me to get my upgrade bumped up an extra week to get the phone today. It's not happening.

I suppose it's not too bad.. I should be able to get it next Thursday. But still. Knowing the phone is out, and that now I'm not just aimlessly waiting for it like we've all been doing since the whole release delay debacles started.. this next week is going to be painful and never ending. :(
 
wow, 1 week? I have always had pretty good luck with verizon moving my upgrade dates up a little bit here and there. I wonder why they wont do it.

I don't know. Tried in-store in two seperate stores yesterday.

Called customer care this morning, and they put me on hold for about 5 minutes because they weren't seeing my Early Upgrade, just my NE2 which is in November.. when they came back they said they found it, and it's a manager-approved upgrade (whatever that means) but it won't actually appear on my account until 3/24. So they can't do anything about it.

I was disappointed, because I heard that they would be able to bump it up..
 
ah, it's a 1 year "early" upgrade? that probably has something to do with it.

Yeah, it's not the NE2. When I log into My Verizon, it only shows 11/24/2011.

But I emailed customer service weeks ago asking when the closest date that I would be able to upgrade is, because I've basically been able to upgrade early every year since I've been with Verizon which has been for years now. I never actually go to the NE2 date. They've always given me the early upgrade.

But I heard from people on here and elsewhere that if I called they would still be able to bump even that up, since it's only a week.

Oh well.
 
Man, I went to 3 different stores, (VZW Premo retailers) and they were like, "We were SUPPOSED to get some in today? Sorry..." and finally on my way home I figured I would try one last place, the SUPER busy store next to my place, and BAMB!! Not only a ton in stock, but filled to the brim with extras for me to buy!! Got my work discount, and bought screen protectors, silicone case, and the phone for...... $258!!!!!!!!! WIN! No bigger batteries in store yet though...

Good luck, even store people couldn't buy them today I guess...

Yes :/ I'm unemployed right now. :/ so I prob won't get one for 1-2 months.

That is because you are not even a full year into your 2 year contract. Makes sense to me.
 
Well, I was supposed to get it this morning on release day but I had to have Verizon fedex it to me overnight. I know one day is not gonna kill me. Now I'm just making a check list of the the little bugs and known fixes so I know what I need to do right away
 
Wow same thing with me!!! i have to wait till next Thursday after going in store and calling customer service 3 times they still didnt let me upgrade early and mine is for my NE2 upgrade i thought they would let me do it for sure.
 
You have to wait an extra week? Awww...boo hoo hoo. I'm not eligible for upgrade until July 6th and haven't been able to get them to budge after numerous attempts, both on the phone and in-store! Now that's something worth crying over! :'(

(I'm not being a jerk, just teasing you. :p )

Well, July 6th is a while away.. that sucks.

But that's partly my point. It's just a week! For them to not bump it up, given that I've been a loyal customer for almost 10 years in good standing with them through three seperate lines, is annoying.

Look on the bright side though.. by July 6th there will likely be something better either out, or on the horizon anyway.
 
Wow , i guess imn lucky . My upgrade date was May 2011 , and the good people at verizon changed my date yesterday , for me to buy this phone for my wife. I have to say its all in how you talk to the people , and also it helps to have a manager that is friendly , and willing to help the customer.
 
@ KSChris - Yah, I hear ya. I'm pretty surprised you haven't been able to get anyone to bump you up a week. And, yes, it's true there will be more options for me to choose from by the time I can upgrade. Not sure I'll go for anything but the TB though, as I love HTC's Sense UI too much to part with it!

@ GatorPT - Congrats on getting your date moved. I'm definitely going to continue trying periodically over the next couple of months. And, yah, I'm always very polite too. I even try to crack a joke and make them laugh. I have to say, I tend to want to just hang up immediatley when I get a male CSR...they always seem to be very serious and I never have gotten anywhere with them. The female CSR's are always more pleasant and helpful and I've had good luck with them in that past. That's been my experience anyway.

Early upgrade

For those who can't upgrade early, persistance is the key, keep calling back and talk to someone else, it's insane how different each CSR can be. I called three weeks ago to ask for an early upgrade, my contract expires in August 2011. He said no. Callled again on Tuesday, talked to a nice lady, since I have been a long-term customer who pays their bill, she said she would do it. She put a note on my account. She did say some stores may not honor, but if you call us, you can order a phone over the phone. So, I call Thurs morning to get my TB, the person I speak sees the notes on the account, but says no way, not before twenty months. We argue and I hang up pissed. Call back, get a different person, she sees the note, and says ok, and tries to order me one, then, she said I had to go online to do it. So, I go online, early upgrade was not reflected, so I couldn't. Call back again and get a different person, explain to her, she puts me on hold for 3 minutes, and says, you are good. Go online, and bam, eligible for upgrade. But, online, it only gave me a 2 year upgrade option.

So, I go in the store, she gives me a 1 year price of 319, and I am happy as a clam, as I am selling my Dinc for $220. As I am checking out, she says, you get a corporate bonus, wife works for a hospital, the phone was lowered to $269. It could not have worked out better. Moral of the story is keep trying and keep calling until you get what you want.

I tried calling twice this morning, and got shut down both times.

Both of them told me they just had a big meeting about this very thing, and were told strictly that they weren't allowed to approve these early upgrades.
