Android Central Question

There are so many options for phone cases out there. Originally being recommended to the Lifeproof i have learned that they dont make a waterproof/screen protector case for the Pixel 3 through Lifeproof. something about the screen being difficult to cover...

Welcome to Android Central.
That's a tuff question and it depends on what you need and like. I'm not familiar with any waterproof ones except LifeProof but you already ruled that out. Otter Box makes great protective ones but they can be bulky. If you give us more specifics maybe someone here can help. Also take a look in the Pixel 3 accessories section.

I prefer a holster I wear on my belt and my nephews prefer just a case covering the back and they carry their phone in their pants pocket. I have a holster that holds my phone in a Spigen Neo-Hybrid case.

Welcome to Android Central! I'm not aware of any waterproof cases; but if you are concerned about safety, shock absorption, etc, and don't mind some builk, I'd recommend an Otterbox case. I believe they come with a lifetime warranty and you can get some pretty snazzy ones.

Good luck, and let us know what you decide

I bought a Spigen case off Amazon. Not expensive and recently protected my phone from a 4 foot drop onto a tile floor.

Edit, this is on my 2XL. Just sharing that this TYPE of case protected my phone well.

That's my case. It's a Spigen Neo-Hybrid. One of these served my Pixel 2 well and now my nephew has it. I bought another for my Pixel 3.

This is the holster I bought for my Spigen Neo-Hybrid.

I use the Speck Presidio Grip Case. It can protect the phone from drops from 10 feet and tempered screen protectors work with the case.

As Morty said, the Otterbox is the toughest case there is (I've had a phone flung against a wall, screen-first, with no mark on the phone or the wall), and it's an "as long as we have one in stock: guarantee. I had a broken one (I broke it when it had been taken apart) close to 3 years after buying one), and I still use them on my new phones. Expensive, but aside from water or being driven over (and I'm not sure about that last one), they survive anything.

Spigen 360. Thin and covers front and back by clip-on case. Comes with screen protector as well.

Spigen Tough Armor. As good as Otter for only $15 on Amazon. I used one for my S7 edge as well. When I traded it in on the Pixel 3 XL, the phone still looked new.
