I was at drippler and got an update that VZW was releasing another ota for the radios on the phone. It linked me to Android POLICE and I followed. Well, stupid me, I went through the instructions on how to apply it, and at the BOTTOM of the F*^king screen it gives the warnings about not applying it to a phone that had gone through the HTC unlock/relock process! Really? The Bottom of the screen is where you put a crucial warning like that? PLEASE HELP!!

I don't have the technical skill on Ubuntu. Any other ideas. I bought this brand new in a sealed box on ebay back in Dec. and went to my Verizon store. While happily taking my insurance dollars on this device, they neglected to mention that because it has to be bought there so they could have a warranty date in their system. Moreso, didn't this come out just last September, so, logically, it's still under warranty. My other option is Inspirion, who MIGHT exchange it. I don't have the time for that. I leave home sunday. AAARRRRGGGGHHH!

Call tech support, dont go to the store... tell them you got the ICS sandwich update and it just got stupid and see if you can get a replacement.

And as soon as they see its unlocked they will send you a 500 dollar bill. Ubuntu is not that hard and you can coppy and past all the commands

We have ZERO (that I have seen) people get charged for a rooted phone.

But yes, you can actually load Ubuntu onto a flash drive, and boot it from there to do all this. I bet it only needs to be a 2, maybe 4gb flash drive to work.

They probably wouldn't charge you, but as the warranty covers manufacturers defects, using it when you brick your phone when flashing is fraud. Of course, if it bricks because of an ota and you were stock, then that should still be covered under warranty but that isn't the case here.

I was unlocked through HTC, and was told since it was an ebay phone, new or not, no one, not even HTC repair themselves, will accept the phone even for a paid repair job. I can't even get them to take my money and just fix the damn thing! RIDICULOUS!
