I can't deal with the nexus 5 battery life anymore...

I was getting almost 6 hours screen time.

This is without turning stuff off too. Only difference between how I use it now and then is that I use bluetooth and wifi-tether now. The wifi tether apps does drain battery quick.

I don't see how anyone could get 6 hours of screen on time with this phone. I really had to stretch to make it to 4 and that's without using YouTube.

Perhaps I'm just in an area with strong signal, but I have no battery issues with my N5 at all.

Heavy email use during the day, wifi (connected to network at home or work) and BT (connected to LG G watch) on all day long, auto screen brightness, GPS chip on (when needed by an app), no task killers, unrooted.

Average 3 hrs screen time per day. Usually only down to 35% by time I go to bed (midnight or so).

I'm fully satisfied with the battery in the N5.

Yeah.... Benchmarks.... Yawn
They are consistent with my own use. Sorry you had a bad experience, but it's not the norm.

I'll take real life usage over Benchmarks and my nexus only lasted about 10 hours and only with like 2 hours of screen time...
Then you probably should have warranteed it. Because that's not normal.

Also, um..it's not just me.

Your case is not the norm. The benchmarks don't lie.

Benchmarks are benchmarks and that's it.... Don't take in other factors

If it is, they need to send their phones back. because it's not normal.

Just like you should not take the experience of 2 guys and assume it is the same for everyone. Benchmarks are objective. Isolated experiences are not.

Is it the Facebook app or Facebook Messenger app that you all talk about guys?

I just installed FB Messenger few days ago, and jeez my battery life is worse. I'm thinking about the Chrome solution...

It is normal.... My friend has the same issue and had already exchanged it.
.. Already sold my nexus 5 because battery life sucks.... The 2300 battery is weak

So we have special magic phones then. The nexus 5 has awful battery life, and you believe that through some kind of witchcraft, we are getting good battery life. Ok.

If you are active on this forum you can see a significant amount of people have battery issues. Not sure what your setup is or how it differs from mine for example but the amount of life you get just doesn't seem to match up with what most are reporting. It seems most people get 3-4 hours screen on time at best with this device. If I was getting 6 I wouldn't be complaining. And for the record this is my 3rd nexus 5. I exchanged the previous 2 for various hardware issues. All 3 had the same battery life. So maybe you do have a magic phone? Ha.

Just go look in all of the previous threads.... I have also made some with pictures including real life figures not some benchmarks which is trash anyways.... It's like using quadrant standard to prove who's phones specs are better....

Even more people are not complaining than are.

But that is why I included benchmarks...to demonstrate that it is not just me.

"Most" according to who? How did you determine that over 50% of Nexus 5 users are having battery issues?

Well, me and the other people I linked to.

So what about the links I posted? Those are all real people too (including an Android Central person)...do they not count because their experiences don't agree with yours?

Lol and you want me to link of reviews saying otherwise?

The battery life is sub par on the nexus 5....

I was solidly in the satisfied camp until Android Wear. That has seriously hit my battery hard.

Well, me and the other people I linked to.

If people who aren't complaining, how are you able to figure a quantity of satisfied users with the nexus 5 battery? I don't see people making threads about how awesome the nexus 5 battery is. A few people are happy with the battery life... Most aren't. Hence the countless threads and comments on this forum about poor battery life. Not to mention every review you read the knock is on the battery.

The thread was created for help regarding battery drain and overall battery life. It was not intended to be a pissing match over whether the battery life is good or not.

Never bothered to read them....
Gee, you don't say.

Plenty of other people here have had issues with battery life
Uh huh

I just bought one a week ago since my last phone died and I needed a new phone immediately. The battery life has been good for me. I get through the day easily and I'm loving the performance and whole experience of the device. I feel it was money well spent.

I was skeptical about getting 5 hours of screen time until I was out over and used gps, yelp, light texting, web surfing and checked on clash of clans throughout the day. Got 4hrs 58mins of screen time with 4% battery left.

This is during the work week. So I am either at home or at work, both have wifi. And while at work I do not use my phone very much, I have my computer and tablet that I use. I forgot to grab a screen on the screen on time, but it was about 5 hours. In general I would say that this is my average use.

As someone who was initially dispirited about the battery size, I stand officially (and happily) corrected. Much better than anticipated.

When it was time for my evening charge earlier, I was down to 14% battery, Screen had used 39%, with Screen On time of 4h 44m at various brightness settings.

My Nexus 5 running bone stock, unrooted 4.4.4 is extremely smooth. Good battery life, no significant wifi issues, strong Bluetooth connectivity and is remarkably crash-free.

Battery life is subjective. My Nexus 5 easily gets me through my day. So does that mean the battery is good?

So many magic phones. Google must have leprechauns working for them 24/7.

Battery life on the N5 is decent enough. Just not as stellar as the flagships with those 3000+ MaH batteries. Still decent enough, and nothing to make a big deal complaining about
