I have not been able to get it to work. What device is reliable and actually works? I do not want to start buying things over the internet and not be able to return them. I know it requires and HDMI 1.4 cable so that is not the problem.

G4 is MHL compatible.. go on Amazon they have tons of them. I use MHL with my G4 to hook it up to my car head unit. Works great

I thought that LG G4 only works with Slimport and not MHL. Not a whole lot of useable connection info on the internet at least not concerning LG G4.. I called and cannot get info from LG or from TMobile. I have asked questions in Micro Center store where I bought the parts that I tried and nobody knows very much about it. Everybody says use Chromecast. I tried it (not the new one) and it looked like I needed an expensive internet speed increase to work. I went to the MHL site and they did not show LG G4 as a compatible phone. Micro Center store had one slimport connector and it said LG G3 but did not show LG G4. they had several MHL adapters, the 11 pin for Samsung and the 5 pin for others but none of the packages had LG G2, LG G3, LG G4 listed. Appreciate your help. Bill

What TV do you have? I can't say as I've specifically tested my G4 with my slim port dongle, but in my experience, the type of TV can play a roll. Both brand and supported TV resolution seems to be problematic. At least that seems to be the case anecdotally.

I chatted with Panasonic support today and they told me that my 4 year old 50"" plasma smart tv would not work using the hdmi-slimport connection. I could not find out why, only that it would not.

I also have a lot newer LG 50" plasma non smart tv and it will not work either. LG support is in the dark and absolutey no help - It's funny that LG is at least partially behind slimport yet their TV's appear not to support it..

I really don't want to go the Chromecast route but it is looking like the only option. (If you want to go wireless on the Panasonic other than Chromecast, you need to buy their anemic $96.00 adapter and download a Panasonic remote app from the Play store.)

I'm disappointed this won't work. I wish there was more info available.

Why don't you like Chromecast? I tried it and it was awesome. I like that G4 has built-in chromecast support so I don't need to install anything and the video quality is really good.

I cannot get my RocketFish MHL to HDMI adapter to work with my L G4 or LG G-Pad 7.0 LTE and YouTube help Chat session was nice, but lacking a resolution. In the end I have determined that my TV Panasonic TC-P50GT30 is incompatible to receive any YouTube video from my Android device - (LG G4 and LG G-Pad 7.0 LTE) and including a chrome cast or Roku - I was advised to purchase one of the aforementioned devices. Why? Has anybody discovered a solution?

Chromecast isn't a bad backup option. I think the biggest set back would be not getting full surround sound.

I get Dolby Digital + from Netflix and HBO Go on my Chromecast. It definitely supports surround sound.
