I compared ginger bread to ics today.

How can you say that? Do you know me or anyone else on here? Do you know how well my phone works? If you want to generalize like that, i could say you should have just bought a trac phone since all you do is make phone calls.

I didn't see where your name was mentioned....just a bit touchy are you?

Give the guy a break that made this post.. All he is saying in ICS has many more dropped calls, choppy calls & missed calls compared to GB.. I have the same problem with ICS.. The guy did a physical test & came to a conclusion which most agree with.. He is comparing the latest GB with the latest ICS.. So until there is an update this is the only ICS to compare it to.. Why even say wait till there is an update/fix then compare when the problem its NOW...

I'm representing all of the people that he referenced in his blanket statement. And yes, i get touchy when someone makes fun of people they don't know. No one on here can or should pretend like they know how someone else uses their device. Especially in a condescending manner.

Because my original point was that change and progress are good. ICS is progress just like GB was progress over froyo. But even then, GB required updates to REALLY harness the potential. I'm fine with OP's findings, but I AM encouraging a bit of patience.

ICS is NOT progress to those that are having problems using their PHONE as a PHONE. You may like all the nice visual changes and the fact that something now takes 2 taps of the screen instead of 3. But for those us that use the PHONE as a tool, for business, not as a toy, when an update affects that use negatively...it is NOT progress and it is NOT good.

There it is again. You assume others don't use their phone as a phone. I disagree with a lot of what people have said in this thread, but at least everyone else has been logical about it. You make assumptions that are simply not true. Not EVERYONE has problems making phone calls.

My point all along has been proven again by you. A lot of people have a problem with their phone, and they immediately assume everyone else either has the same problem, or they are little kids playing with a toy.

There's zero reason to be condescending to other people just because you're frustrated.

Where in my post did I say everyone was having problems making calls? Where was I being condescending?

YOU assume I am frustrated.

Condescending.

Thank you.

My phone works perfectly as a phone, internet browser, text messaging, etc. No issues at all so I have no idea why others are having so many. I'm picky, I don't like imperfections so I'd be going nuts if my phone was jacked up.

I'll bet not even 5% of those using the MAXX will agree with that, let alone more than 50%. I certainly don't. I have had none of the problems referenced by the OP, and I do not use the MAXX "as a toy."

So stop giving the ones that are having issues grief about it. I said not all are having it, some are, I referenced that it's like the nexus owners, where some had signal issues and some don't.

We are voicing our problem and opinion, and I can guarantee others are having the issue. Most people don't post on here either, so we are speaking up for them. Yes, going to ICS is moving forward and is progress, but when there are issues they need to be pointed out so hopefully they can be fixed. If the situation would be reversed and you had the signal issue, you would be on here stating it and you would not like me coming in here and saying, well ICS works good for me, that's like saying to bad for you.

As i said, google should allow users to revert to any official released OS for the phone you have, what works good for some don't work good for others. The way it is, we upgrade, we can't go back, we don't upgrade, its forced on us unless we root and void warranty.

We are beating a dead horse now.

I actually agree with a lot of what you've said. The ONLY reason i jump on here and say it works for me is because lots of Maxx owners are debating on upgrading their phone to ICS and they should know that while SOME do have problems, some do not. It's the people who are rude about it that kept me going.

Enjoy GB and good luck with future updates.

My call quality has not changed but my data connection isn't as good. The .215 leak has made a slight improvement. Those of you on ICS, have you tried the leak? It is very easy to install and revert if you follow the instructions on the post. If I were having these problems, I would definitely give the leak a try.
