I got an Android, but want to go back to the iPhone. Why is this?

That has nothing to do with the copying. Obviously, you are not familiar with Samsung's history.

I am but it is easy to sue someone when you are using there Products. And Apple has been copying others for awhile.

Did someone say or insinuate that Ford was cheap?

Yes.

Re: Got an Android but want to go back to iPhone. Why is this?

Oh no, Apple is doomed!!!

I looked carefully but I didn't see him say doomed anywhere. I did see him say Apple didn't make the list. Why should they? They haven't done anything exciting in years..

Looks to me like he said Apple didn't do anything impressive enough to make the list. How you made the stretch from that to "doomed" is beyond me. There's a big difference. I saw it easily and immediately, couldn't you? Unless your intent was simply to be flippant for lack of a meaningful rebuttal, in which case mission accomplished I guess.

Yeah, the list was not saying "OMG Apple products suck". It was saying Apple is no longer innovative. Which a lot of people have been saying for a while now...even Apple people.

The tone I took from it was not necessarily flippant but more that Apple not making that list is meaningless to a lot of consumers. Let's be honest, Apple's next phone could literally offer the cure to cancer but some would still say it offered nothing new. If you dislike Apple, for whatever reason, you dislike Apple. You say Apple hasn't offered anything exciting in years. That's certainly one perspective. I'm sure some would disagree and that's okay too.

The mobile phone market is not young anymore, so I'm not expecting any huge jumps year over year. If Apple offers a larger screen this year due to demand it will be a welcome addition to many but many will not care because its not a quantum leap over past technologies and that's completely okay. I will say that if Samsung had offered a fingerprint scanner and 64-bit processor in its phones last year in a similar implementation as to what Apple has done its supporters wouldn't be calling the two technologies gimmicks. Instead we'd likely be hearing terms like "ground breaking" thrown around.

Just my opinion.

Actually one milestone I will give them credit for is being the first to market with a 64 bit processor. But they're sorely behind on the software front and if they don't get caught up they're going to have a sore behind.

See what I did there? Kyuk :-P

It is only meaningful if you are trying to claim that Apple is still innovative. I agree.

Let's be honest, Apple's next phone could literally offer the cure to cancer but some would still say it offered nothing new.
I guess it is irrelevant since they have not offered anything new in a long time. Including a cure for Cancer.

Apple has not made a lot of friends in the last few years.

You say Apple hasn't offered anything exciting in years. That's certainly one perspective.
Apparently a perspective a lot of people share.

I disagree. I think people still think it's a gimmick. Just like SIRI was. Just like eye-scrolling on Touchwiz was.

No one has really been innovative for a while now, except maybe Motorola to a small extent. Although the 64-bit is innovative, imo. Samesung must think so, since they are copying it.

Siri is not a gimmick. It is very useful.

Out of all the people I see with an iPhone 4S and up, why don't they use it if its so useful? You may say its useful but all the other iPhone users may say they don't like doing the voice thing. We don't know exactly how many people actually use it and find it useful.

Why do you think it is innovative? Are 1080p displays also innovative?

Uh huh.

I don't use Siri much as I simply have no need. However, when I do use her she doesn't disappoint. I would imagine Google Now doesn't either.

Thanks for posting this video. I didn't know you could phrase commands with that much variety. I just got Google Now to launch Pandora. Probably old hat to most but I admit I rarely use the voice commands.

And it makes me wonder... I watched Highway to Heaven in the presence of my Nexus 5 and the first song Pandora gives me is Stairway to Heaven. :)

Samsung has been regurgitating as well. Siri is way good.

this is my 5th time trying android and i have always gone back to iphone. why is this? i know over all android is superior in everything but everytime i use the android it seems like its just worse off in everyway for battery, camera, speed, texting and anything else. i have the lg g2 but been an iphone user my whole life. what do i do to stay on android. any suggestions?

I go back to the iPhone because I love the build and polish. I miss that and android ain't there yet. It is usual when I am busy as well and want everything to work well. To many cooks in the android kitchen, and sometimes you just want prime rib rather than all you can eat buffet.

Well, I stopped in Best Buy tonight. Went to the Samsung display. The new 8.4" is indeed...gorgeous. What are they calling it?..."The Tab Promiscuous 8.4"? The Note 3's were so...big. ...not in a bad way either, but I could see me tiring of the size again quickly and wanting something more "normal" sized. I'm not gonna knock Samsung. ...but I'm happy right where I am right now with my iDevices.

Google Now vs. Siri: The results speak for themselves - YouTube

I said that Siri is very useful, and said nothing about Google Now, but yet you act like I am comparing the two. They are both good.

Probably just as many as find Google Now useful. I don't think that "all the other iPhone users" are saying that they don't like it.

Re: Got an Android but want to go back to iPhone. Why is this?

But,

Google Now is available for the iPhone so its not really platform specific.
