I got my Xoom upgraded to 4G, who else got there's?

The supervisor hung up on me when I started laughing when she said that Motorola was handling this in a professional manner.

Apparently irony is lost on them...

All I know is that I'm out of my device for the foreseeable future while Motorola and its contractor work at pulling their heads out of their collective rectums.

The only difference between this delay and all of the other delay's we have suffered through with this joke of a company is that before I had my $800 device. Right now I do not.

Yea, that sucks. I mean, we knew we'd be without it for a while, but, to not even know where it is or whether it's been upgraded or not...not really acceptable.

Oh, and she actually told me our devices were supposed to be upgraded on a first come first served basis. I told her, that judging by the responses of android forums that clearly isn't happening. She then proceeded to tell me she couldn't answer to something like that because those are imaginary devices. :D

What the??? ROFLMAO! That's awesome. :)

Greetings fellow frustrated Xoom owners;
Disclaimer: This is my first post.

OK I have been following this thread very closely since the upgrade site at Verizon went live. I, like many of you, am a little frustrated at the absolute joke of a tracking website Motorola has given us. I have resisited the urge to join this forum and comment on Motorola's performance thus far and for now I will continue to do so. I joined the forum because, well, I live in Elgin, IL. I remember a few days ago people jokingly asking for pictures of this mysterious black hole that all of our xooms are sitting in. The thing is, now I really want to go check out this place myself but I did not save the address off of the Fedex label that Motorola sent me. I want to see if I can find any evidence to support or debunk some of the theories with regard to shipping problems posed on this forum. I.e., are there semi trailers parked outside? Heck I am even curious as to how big the place is. If anyone has that address of the label post it and I will go check it out. You all will, of course, be treated to pictures of the joint if I can get the address.

One more interesting thing......There is a very large office building here in Elgin about 5 minutes from where I live that is occupied by Verizon. It is some type of corporate office of theirs. I remember thinking when I got my upgrade box that it must be going there for the upgrade. I also remember that when I looked at the address that it was not on the same road as that office. I am wondering if there is some type of connection to that office. Perhaps the address on the label is to one of the side roads around the complex. Those of you familiar with larger office complexes know what I mean. A complex like that could have a loading dock with an address that is to the rear or side of the building.

Sorry for the long post, and stay strong....we WILL get our xooms back and they will STILL kick tablet butt.

Well, the other thread said that they are having to redo a bunch of the devices that were already completed. I hope those of us who already got ours didn't get something half-baked...again!

Too bad you can't physically drop yours off and pick it up, probably save you days of aggravation :) Then again knowing how it's being tracked and managed, it would disappear forever as they wouldn't have known how to handle it, hehe.

It is a Motorola Xoom. The entire device is half-baked. Seriously, how can it be considered anything other than that. Given the repeated delay's in the upgrade of the device that was supposed to be a 4G LTE device, to what some of us are dealing with now.

I honestly thought to myself, "wow, look at Verizon, they are really serious about getting these upgrades done. They must have a crap load of upgrade centers if they have one so close to me here in Elgin". I had no clue that so many were coming from so many different places. Just imagine how I feel right now....it is sooooo close to me, yet so far away.

That is the address of the company Motorola has contracted with to handle the upgrade.

How do you think they are doing? I think they stink.

You shouldn't. You should see it in a white FedEx shipping truck speeding down the highway towards whatever the closest FedEx center is by your home. ;)

I wish. It still hasn't been picked up yet. They claim it will be picked up today and I'll get it tomorrow.

You received the tracking number yesterday?

Yup. And it still says this:

Anticipated ship date Oct 11, 2011
Estimated delivery Oct 12, 2011 by 12:00 PM

Meaning, it still hasn't ACTUALLY been shipped. They simply created the label for it. It's waiting to be picked up or sent out or whatever the hell their process is.

Thanks! I am going to try and take some pics tonight if it is not too dark when I get home. That is about 5 minutes from where I live.

Well to be honest, my take is that they said 6 days and so far it hasn't been 6 days for me. I mean a few people got lucky and got there's faster. I say good for them. My big gripe is with the tracking. I have not had some of the experiences that others have had with contradictory info on the site and over the phone but if that happened to me I would be upset too. Then again, Motorola didn't HAVE TO give us a tracking site in the first place. I wonder sometimes if Moto would have been better off just saying its gonna be around 6 days and thats that. No tracking site, no emails. I think alot of the frustration expressed here would not have taken place. Don't get me wrong, I MISS MY XOOM. I find myself reaching for it all the time and I REFUSE to bring my netbook out of retirement. That would make me feel dirty, almost like cheating on my xoom:)

I'm at my six days now. They can't even tell me if the upgrade on my Xoom has been started, or completed.

It will be 6 for me at the end of this week. Thats allowing them the holiday (Columbus day, I mean what factory closes for Columbus day?) and Saturday as "non business" days. I'm sure I will not be as calm about this if I dont have my Xoom back by then. The main reason I am not trying to get to worked up about is because I have this terrible feeling that this could spiral out of control and it could be a long while before we get our stuff back. I mean have any of you contemplated the possibility of multiple weeks, dare I say, months???? Reading this forum it seems like since the first few got their Xooms back NO ONE has received theirs, best I can tell. What happens if this turns into a REAL nightmare?
