I got my Xoom upgraded to 4G, who else got there's?

went to check my RMA, and it now has a fedex return tracking number with an expected delivery date back to me for tomorrow...joy

I will (should) have my XOOM back tomorrow AM. Per FedEx tracking:

Oct 11, 2011 5:19 PM Left FedEx origin facility SCHAUMBURG, IL
Oct 11, 2011 3:19 PM Picked up SCHAUMBURG, IL
Oct 10, 2011 9:36 PM Shipment information sent to FedEx

Estimated delivery Oct 12, 2011 by 12:00 PM

How did Moto do regarding their time commitment? It depends on what days to count. I shipped it out late Monday afternoon (10/3) and I'm scheduled to have it back in hand tomorrow (Wednesday) morning (10/12). So, Moto received it on Tuesday (10/4) and shipped it the following Tuesday (10/11). That means that they had it in their possession 6 business days (Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Mon, & Tues). If you look at it that way then they adhered to their time commitment.

I'll just be glad to have it back, and upgraded to 4G LTE.

Mine was shipped today as well. Should be here tomorrow. Seems like it's been gone forever. :)

Yea, close enough for me, as well. I'm also glad to have it back. Can't wait for tomorrow.

I know what you mean. While we only count the business days for the Moto commitment, the reality is that we've been without the device for 9 days. UGH.

Motorola's emails must be going out late tonight if at all, as still nothing... I would think to quiet all the phone calls they would try to send earlier than later, but then again after the last week, not surprised. hehe

TBH, it won't stop me from buying Motorola in the future unless the thing comes all scratched up as very few companies are perfect, and this was a pretty substantial undertaking to upgrade thousands of units. Sure they messed up, but I bet they won't do it again... if anything if there's a comments section in the survey, assuming the thing comes in one piece, my biggest complaint so far is their communication is VERY poor. Some of that is probably due to the outsourcing their work to CTDI, but TBH that's not our problem, Motorola should have sorted that out better. As SamuriHL stated, if they had said "Shipping 10/11" people would be annoyed but not aggravated over lack of *any* communication. Hopefully within the next few days things will calm down, and we'll all be drooling over the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade :)

Once it comes back, I'm likely going to unlock the thing, root it, and start looking at the customizations out there. We shall see. Just happy to have it back.

BTW anyone who's has shipped note the shipping weight? Someone said the original ones were 2lbs (with the dock) who got their's already, and now most of them are 4lbs, and even one that's 11lbs!? Maybe that's water weight for the rumored fire they had

Fire? Seriously???

Come on now. There is no way in hell that there could have been a fire at the facility. Aside from giving a solid "Act of God" irrefutable explanation for the delay, it couldn't be covered up. Nor recovered from that quickly. People whose property was affected would have been contacted instantly to tell them. Most likely by Verizon, not Motorola. Nevermind nobody has reported the MEID mysteriously changing.

Trying to terrify people?

I've received mine back but have lost 3g/4g after flashing over the factory image. I see many others in the same boat. I'm in the process of posting a very comprehensive post on the issue and hopefully we'll get it resolved.

Sad part is I'm not making that up, there were rumors from people on the official Moto forums that they were told this, LOL. It's pretty funny and sad at the same time.

When mine arrives later today I'll not be too happy if it's charred and smells like smoke! :D

Hehehe if the rumor is true... then I suspect that's why they never told us as they'd get a rash of "it's not working, must have had water damage" calls from people.

Mine's in the state about 30mins away form here, but in reality probably still got a few hours before I see it.

It's a good thing Motorola has outsourced their customer service to foreign countries. In situations like these it is always good to have the staff as far away as possible from the danger. LOL

Let's hope we don't have any problems. Mine just arrived to the FedEx office in the next town over about 6 minutes ago. That means they're loading it on a truck now and I should get it at the normal FedEx delivery time for my neighborhood. In fact, you can practically set a clock to it. It will be between 11 and 12 so I have a few hours to go, as well.

Wait, maybe they decided to overclock them, as well, and they overheated and caused a fire. :D

That's got to be it. It explains the delay as well as the lack of information their customer disservice have on the status of our Xoom's. LOL
