I got my Xoom upgraded to 4G, who else got there's?

It would definitely be better if the Market could identify which device you had purchased the app from, and put it into My Apps for that device.

I hear a lot of talk about the online Market. How does that work? Do you log in from a PC and it shows you the apps and devices that you own?

Yup. I use it all the time. Very handy.

Holy crap! That is awesome! I read somewhere that you can "push" an install to one of your devices. How is that done?

Piece of cake. Just find the app you want to push, tell it what device you want to install it to, and wait. :)

On a side note, I just got my Xoom back. It's taking a LONG time to boot up. :(

Seems fine now that it finished booting. Recognized it has a 4G SIM and asked if I wanted to switch 4G on. I'll just leave it on CDMA for now until I'm in an LTE area. They definitely upgraded the market. I had a ton of updates to do, as well. Looks like they took good care of it...no scratches or anything like that. In the same condition (perfect) as when I sent it. I'd say they did a good job. Other than the little hiccup with lack of proper information for a few days which was massively frustrating. And at the end it did look like they were making a valid attempt at providing that transparency and information. I realize others haven't been quite as lucky, but, other than the lack of info I can't really complain. Took a bit longer than I'd have liked but not so much so that Moto can be faulted for it. Just glad to have it back finally.

Hang in there. What I really want to find out is that now that a bunch of them were shipped out last night....I want to know when the next batch are shipped. Because if it is another full week, then people like Paul and yourself have a legitimate reason to complain loudly. I really wonder if they're doing weekly shipments. sigh.

Interesting, I had a very fast boot, and it never asked me for LTE, I had to follow their directions by going into settings to turn it on. After about 15mins or so it connected without a problem. I am however about 1200' from an LTE tower, so not sure if that matters. Also wonder if it's because I did a factory reset versus encrypted (may also explain speed difference?)

Also it shipped with HLK75D, didn't the originals have C?

-Mike

Yes they did. I wonder if that was the issue. Bugs in the C version so those that had not already shipped got pulled and had to wait for the new version then got reimaged and sent out. I really want to know what HLK75D fixed.

I have a theory, but, I could be wrong. I encrypted mine. I'm wondering if the upgrade gets cached so that when you first turn it on and enter your encryption password it then applies the upgrade. I thought maybe they didn't encrypt the OS but maybe that's not true. Maybe they just loaded it on there so that when I booted up for the first time it applied it. That would certainly explain the 5+ minute boot time. I'm going to restart it in a bit and see if it's any faster. The 4G message didn't pop up for a few minutes, but, I also have activated service with VZW so they activated my SIM for me.

Wait, you're saying that some of the Xooms that were shipped out early came back with C? And now we're getting D? Oh boy.

Mine takes over a minute at the strobing Honeycomb screen now...

Mine arrived with C. The D update came out last Friday, after I received my Xoom. Could be the reason for the delay.

Just restarted mine to see how long it'll take...a full 2 minutes from power on to home screen. UGH. My freaking laptop is faster than that! sigh :)

That's a very good possibility. If I were you guys with version C, I'd be calling Moto to try to get an answer on that. If that's the case, and they found a problem, then I'm happy for the delay, but, still irritated with the lack of info. They could have just simply sent us all an email saying "woa, holy crap, man that bug sucks! Yea, we're going to hold on to these so we can fix it for you before sending it back." Hey, NO PROBLEM! :D Instead it was a real mess trying to figure out what was going on.

How long did it take for yours?

Sent it in on 10/3, it got there on 10/4, said it was completed on 10/5, and shipped out last night (10/11). Got it this morning. Basically 8 or so days without it. That's not horrible, tbh.

Mine is being held at the FedEx facility as requested. I even got a call from the person i spoke to in their Customer Advocacy department to notify me as such.

My only problem is my work has me on the opposite side of the city today so it'll have to wait till i get off

The new market has screwed everything up. SIGH. Apps are saying they're not installed when they are. Others are saying they're installed when they aren't. And a LOT of them won't update at all. GRRRR. Oh, and I attempted to uninstall one of the ones that wouldn't update so I could just reinstall it. It disappeared from the market completely. SO not happy. And yes, I tried clearing the cache. Didn't help. I'll have to see if anyone else has run into this and whether there's a solution to it. I just wanted to warn people in advance...remember I only encrypted my device and didn't wipe it. Seems that didn't help me avoid the issues with the market.
