So the update file is not on the SD card at all, i pulled the SD card out completely and it's still rebooting when i power up, grrrr!

Did you actually turn the hotspot on? You can open up the app, change the connection settings, etc without paying for hotspot, put if you turn hotspot on, it prompts you to purchase it for $30/month
Yes I actually turned Hotspot on and it worked just like before. Nothing appeared about subscribing and paying for the service. The screen for the battery reminder appeared and the screen with instructions appeared for connecting through my laptop. I just tried it again to confirm.

Go into the bootloader and do a factory reset. Unless anyone else has any other options for him to try.

Anyway, every time I press "Check new", the little box pops up that it's checking for new software, then after a few seconds, it goes away, and I get nothing. I tried restarting my phone, and it's still doing it. :/

Same here. I guess no one has any ideas. It's been happening to me the past 3 days.

No update in Delaware at 9:00pm. Hope it will show up in the morning.

I checked at 8:15 pm here in Atlanta, GA and it is available. Just waiting to see what people is saying about it before proceeding.

Anyone find the 4G toggle switch that was supposed to be included?
re: 3g/4g toggle

it is in the wireless/networks (under settings), then go into mobile networks options. there is a lte/cdma option and a cdma only option. i believe this is what you are after.

Do I need to back everything up (contacts, apps, etc) like I did before the last update? My contacts were a mess after MR1 update.
