I have a G4, you have questions — ask away!

One more question: can you go outside and compare the GPS lock time on the G4 vs. the G3? During the presentation they seemed to say that this point was a lot more accurate and faster with that regard.

What's the amperage of the charger that it comes with? Does it give an estimate of charge time when you plug it in since it has Lollipop, and if so, can you give an example of such? Just trying to get an idea of how much Quick Charge would be missed with this phone, especially since it has such a big battery.

Here's some motion pics, as requested

Not to be too nitpicky, but honestly those are just ok for bright, outdoor shots. It's out of focus on all but maybe the first one (open them full res in a separate window and you'll see it better), and there's some serious blowing out of the bright spots on the photos, and even some "clouding" in the bottom of the first shot. I can think of a handful of phones I've had over the past year (and no, not just the i6 and s6) that would've performed much better in that situation.

Edit: The pictures are in post 105 in this thread (can't post links as I haven't posted enough yet)

Edit 2: And if it struggles in that scenario even a bit, I have real concerns in indoor lighting with even the slightest bit of movement.

I don't think you've answered any questions about battery life, and I understand why: it's hard to tell without at least a few days. But could you give an initial impression? Did you have to give it a boost after dinner? I rely on my phone for business and battery life is the number one important thing for me.

Nothing about the last 36 hours of use is indicative of anything in regards to battery life, because it's pre-production software and I've been doing way more than usual. We'll talk about battery once the software is consumer ready.

Hey phil, how does leather of G4 feel like? It's silky smooth? Any other irritation of G4 phone leather built?
Can you test a minimal scratches some on back of G4 leather phone?
That all and why i asked ya because i just want to see how good scratch-shield on G4

Thanks for doing this for all of us. How do you feel this camera stacks up to the Note 4's? I have the Note now and love the camera for still but it's frustrating for low light motion. Could you possibly snag some of each and post them for us? I looked through the thread and found motion and a low light but never a low light motion. Would also like to see how it compares to the Note 4 in standard low light maybe if neons are nearby.

Thanks again regardless if you get to this or not.

Low light motion is not going to work unless 1) you use a flash or 2) you want a long exposure with blurred streaks of light. Doesn't matter if you are using a G4, S5 or a DSLR.

I would say this is kind of incorrect. Indoor motion shots are usually lit to some degree and with a large aperture you can capture an image, albeit dark, that can be brightened and edited pretty nicely.

Well, show me an example of what you are talking about. To me, low light implies the need for longer exposures. Anything over 1/60 of a second is going to blur with even small movement, decent movement is gonig to require 1/100 or faster. If you find a camera that is taking shots in low light at 1/100 or faster, please, tell me about it.

I must be out of my mind then to think that I've gotten much better results from different phones.... granted, no phone has had a camera as good as the Note 4's so maybe I'm just spoiled from how good it performs in stand-still low light situations. I never try the flash.... I'll give it a shot. This camera actually takes fantastic flash shots.

Have you tried playing with the cameras manual mode? If so do you think it compares to a real DSLR?

@Russell Holly, in the Antutu Benchmark yoiu did what was the overall score? It comes completely blank... The individual scores make no sense to me...

No smartphone will compare to a DSLR, but manual mode gets a lot closer than most. Here's a photo I captured in DNG RAW with edits via Lightroom

Is there a benefit to RAW that I'm missing? The auto version of that photo looks even better, though it was obviously taken at a different time with different lighting.

Was this taken with Raw + Jpeg? If so, can we see the jpeg, if not why not?

Actually, this type of shot should have little benefit from RAW as jpeg handles good light conditions well, typically. Lower light shots where jpeg will smear detail with heavy noise reduction is where you should see benefits, as well as wonky white balance shots or mixed white balance shots (i.e. sunlight in part of frame, incandescent in another part).

Depending on how truly raw the file is, raw will allow better control of noise reduction, sharpness, dynamic range/exposure, and white balance. The benefit in good lighting is minimal or non-existent.

Well, as long as you don't have movement you can have very low shutter speed - particularly with a good optical image stabilization or a stable surface/tripod. This will help in low light. But if you have a slow shutterspeed, as soon as the subject moves, there will be blur.

What are the specs for the slo-mo/video? G3 was 720p @ 120fps. Anything better on the G4? Also you know if 1080p is at 60fps?
