I have an EVO ...

Three quick questions, and thanks again for fielding these for us!

1) Do your upcoming calendar appointments show up on the home screen like they do on the HD2? (its displayed under the time and weather).
2) Does the time that the alarm is set for show up on the home page as well, like it does on the HD2? (its displayed under the time and weather).
3) Have someone call you or text you while your phone is locked and dont answer - do you get an LED notification like on the HD2?
4) Can you password lock the phone like other Droids?

Opps that was four, but please, if you could answer them. Thanks so much!!! (And lucky you!)

Does downer grove have 4g or is it your home not allowing you to connect? Did u check 4g inside a building in the coverage area?
thanks

does it have CardDAV and CalDAV support? (support for adding an address book server account for the contacts, and sync with a calendar server)

Do you have the overclock patch installed? I would be interested in seeing how the overclocked pre measured up to the Evo.

Yup the 800 mhz... I did the test a few more time it was a little more even but speed wise the Pre isn't close to this thing.

I have a question for you regarding Sprint TV on the EVO. Is the cannel line up the same as Sprint TV on the Pre? There's been speculation tthat morechannels will be included on the EVO, but I'm not so sure. I recently subscribed to Sprint TV Xtra for an addidional $10 and wouldn't want to pay that plus the $10 'premium data' fee if say, Fox News was available on the EVO w/o subscribing to Sprint TV Xtra. If you could tell me whether or not Fox News is on the standard lineup or ifits still only avail on Xtra, I would be most appreciative. Thanks in advance.

I didn't see any additional channels. I was hoping for a "HD" package

Can you post some screen shots of the email client and the "shortcoming" you found when compared to the Pre? I know the Pre had a slight learning curve for me and I am under the impression that Android will be no different. But I thought I saw a video where there was a compose email button so you didn't have to go through menus.

there's been a lot of complaining amongst people looking at the specs sheet regarding the screen. the spec sheet indicates that the screen displays 65K colors, only. could you please look at some high res photos and give us your gut instinct on how it displays color. i.e. do the colors look bright, crisp, and TRUE? i'm assuming you're not a professional photographer like most of us, so a simple gut reaction will suffice, thanks!

I guess depends on how u define professional.... the screen is great you won't have any problems there. colors, brightness etc seem to be spot on. Did side by side with my Pre and the Evo looks to have deeper richer colors.

Not in the gmail app. its menu then compose. There will be a looks curve but it will be easy. The think the biggest factor is moving around the OS. The card interface and gestures is a special thing. :D

awesome. thank you for the reply.

Hi and thanks for answering all our questions!

Is there a noise cancellation mic on it?

I have 4G in the area. I've used the card before that was months ago. I went outside but no luck I did connect once with a very low signal.

I too would like to see some video uploaded that was shot outside in sun or shot video of well lighted room to better see quality of camcorder.

I too LOVE webos but have preordered the EVO. I wish palm would have sold out webos to other manufactors like android and this device would be coming out on webos which would be ultimate winner. Since I am premier customer if HP rights ship I can jump back on next June.

How is switching task compared to webos? Try downloading the app TaskOS and see if this makes it more like webos to you.

Thanks for the information doc. For those worried about the screen, don't be. I can assure you it will be very difficult to scratch, unlike the screen of the Palm Pre.

Hey guys I can't do any additional testing I had to return it sooner then I hoped (i may be able to get it again later) my general impressions:
Speed: its blazing fast. Even with 3G pages seems to load faster then normal.
Screen: Of course its great. Responded to touches very well.
HTC/Sprint YouTube: Works great. HQ also works over 3G & Wifi
Qik: Works well and is very easy. Tested over 3g and there was a 3 second delay on the website.
Camera: is one of the best I've used auto focus was great (WebOS needs this)
Speaker: Loud and clear
I don't see any reason why this isn't the best android phone on the market.
