I just want some Froyo...

Sorry. You are correct, but where are you running into issues? Did the PB31IMG.zip install OK from HBOOT?

Yeah, the PB31IMG.zip updates successfully. Then, like the instructions say, i reboot the phone, and remove that file (PB31IMG.zip) from my SD card. Then i put the OTA file, named update.zip, on the SD card and reboot into recovery. Then i apply the update.zip, and it installs perfectly.

After that, i restart the phone to see if it updated the radio. When it starts, it shows the 'Droid' splash screen, and it has the new HTC widgets, as well as the 720p video option. But when i check the radio baseband version, it still says the '1.00.03.04.06' version.

What gives!?

Another thing, at one point i thought i had bricked my phone, because when i was trying to apply the update, it showed a black screen, with a general looking image of a Dinc, and it had a RED YIELD SIGN with an exclamation point inside the yield sign.

When you see the "yield" sign, I believe you have to press the UP volume key and press the power button. I believe this is the stock recovery screen.

Is there a benefit to updating the radio while still running 2.1, or is that even possible?

Okay, it's installing the update.zip now. It wasn't really clear that you then use the stock recovery. Maybe it was to be assumed, but they could have made note of it.

Thanks for the help!

Very cool. That was frustrating, wasn't it?!!! :D

Yeah, i must say that was pretty frustrating...but im a happy camper now!! Thanks again!

To the other guy: You can apply the OTA radio update to 2.1 and it'll give you 720p recording; i think. I know the option is there, but i can't remember if this is one of the bugs where you can use the camcorder. Anyways, if you update the radio, you might as well install a Froyo ROM too.

It's possible but I'm sure it wouldn't play nicely. If you are going to flash the new radio I would suggest going full bore and trying out a Froyo ROM. Skyraider is running really nice right now.
