I really want a Nexus 7 (2016/2017) model

I think they want a phone... I'm the opposite though. I have a phone I want a new tablet...

I think T-Mobile is still doing the free 200mb promotion for device data. That plus all the offline stuff they added to maps makes the Nexus 7 the best GPS I've ever had.

If that's still a thing I'm definitely getting it. 200 mb is enough for what I need to do outside of wifi

I'm so buying this but boy is this going to be expensive.

You think? I'm not so sure. Those are great specs but not quite cutting edge, right? Maybe closer to $400 US vs $250 where I'd like to see a new Nexus 7 priced. Not unreasonable for that spec though.

If it's base 64gb it will be no less than 400 I would assume

I guess I'm in the minority here. I still have and use my Nexus 10, and I'd prefer that they continue with that size in a tablet. I've had a phablet-sized phone during all of this time, so a 7" just seems like a waste to me.

Mainly because there hasn't been a new one in two years, and that one wasn't well received. I think most also want a smaller size than the N9 and want it to cost much less. Both N7's were very well received. I believe a refreshed N7 2016 priced right will do well.

Actually, I had both the N7 and the N9. Thought I wouldn't get into the size of the N9 after loving my N7. Gotta say, not sure I can go back to the small size of the screen. Surfing the internet with my N9 is a much more enjoyable experience.

For the bigger screen I'm thinking chromebooks with android are going to fill that niche better for most people. Having that great browser, keyboard and a sturdy hinge for laptop is super nice.

Still leaves that 7" device need that big phones don't fill.

The 7 or 8" form factor is great for an e-reader and other things that my wife can show in a purse and take with her. She is inseperable from her Nexus 7 (2013) tablet.

Ha, my preference is right in the middle! I have a Nexus 7 (2013), an iPad Mini 4, and a Nexus 9. My favorite size is the iPad Mini 4 which is 8". I'd be very pleased if Google would release an 8" Nexus/Pixel tablet.

Agreed on the 8" screen, 7" is too small and unless the bezels are massive it will be the size of a phone essentially. My Nvidia 8" is the perfect size.

Would totally buy a new nexus 8" if released, if nothing else for the kids to bang around with.

I would do an 8" screen if it wasn't thin (letterbox) like the Nexus 7 (2012/2013). Since we haven't heard much in regards to rumors, I'm guessing on Oct 4th, we're not getting any tablet announcements. Still loving my N9 but it's beginning to show its age.

Agreed. That is what i like about the iPad Mini 4; the extra inch is in width. I primarily use it for my notes in public speaking, and I like that I can get more text on the screen but still have a discreet size.

Well apparently is it NOT going to happen. Google seems to have fallen for the Ultra Premium desire, and will only make ultra costly devices.....
