.

Sorry to hear that. Do keep us informed on how google handled the issue. I guess as long as it is under warranty they will have to send in a new device to those that go through the issue since its widely reported now.

Spoke with them on my lunch hour and explained what I was seeing. Obviously asked if I dropped it. They asked me to get in contact with Huawei and their team to probably reiterate what I told them. Google doesn't seem to be giving me the run around, it's just that they aren't the manufacturer of the phone, so there's that added layer. I came in last night from hanging out with friends and went to bed, hooked it up to my charger. I wouldn't have noticed anything if one of the cracks didn't start to travel into the opening of the adopted case. The other crack was under the case off to the right and not visible.

I'm assuming you probably haven't talked to Huawei yet? I'd guess they would probably want to make it right, but I'm surprised Google didn't just offer you a replacement from them.

No, I'm assuming Huawei wants to get some info on what might have caused it? I've heard some people bring up thermal expansion. I did come in from being outside for a few hours and here in IL it's getting cooler out now. Hooked it up to the charger within 10 minutes of getting in. Maybe the temp change from outside to whatever heat develops when charging was the culprit? No clue really, I'm not an engineer. lol

Thats disappointing. I'm assuming you bought the phone from google. Its the Nexus branding on the device, most bought it from them, the receipt is from them etc. There is no reason why you should be calling Huawei and explaining them anything especially if they have given you the number to get in touch with Huawei. Makes one question the entire " we have control over the hardware and software of the Nexus line" narrative..

Well google said they'd replace it, but they want me to talk to Huawei first. Honestly it's most likely to log the issue for manufacturing purposes.

That's good to hear. It should be a simple warranty replacement as a company the size of Google should do. Hopefully you stick with the device. If the thermal issue is the culprit I'm sure there will be more incidents reported given the approaching colder weather.

I love my 6P. I don't get some of these comments. It seems some are not happy with any phone they buy, it's like they are looking for a reason to return it. If you get a defective one I agree with the other comments, do an RMA and try a replacement.
That makes no sense. Why would someone "look" for a reason to return the device; it is already hassle enough to purchase, then wait and then come to find out the phone has a distinct manufacturing defect that even the Google customer reps acknowledge that customers have complained about it. The fact is some units do have screen defects and people should not settle. Bringing things to Huawei and Google's attention will help to better address these problems and will put a little healthy pressure on manufacturing partners to have better quality control.

So as for your statement of "looking" for problems; I'm happy I "looked for problems" and thus told Google about it...maybe I'm doing others a favor in the future when Google demands better manufacturing procurement for future devices as a result of returns/complaints about certain components.

Why haven't you purchased a replacement? You sound as if you really like the 6P. You returned your unit and filed a complaint to make Huawei aware of issues you had with your unit correct? So why not give the company another opportunity to rise to the occasion? The contract between seller and buyer is a mutually beneficial relationship. If your second drvucedevice has the same issues then perhaps write off Huawei for now and move on. But if you're gonna complain about their product and return it, at least give them the opportunity to rectify it. Obviously you're still interested or else you wouldn't still be posting about a device you already returned.
Of course I like the phone; who said I don't? That's why I ordered a 2nd one. That doesn't change the fact that I'm unhappy that I had to go through the ordeal of playing waiting game to receive my phone, then find out the screen is yellow, return it, wait for credit back on my card and then order another one.

Mine doesn't have any yellow or pink hue to it, though I do feel the screen was a tad higher quality on the Nexus6...but this one is brighter outdoors.

I can't think of any reasons to return the phone, it's a really nice device in every way. But it does feel a bit fragile...I wouldn't want this phone if I worked construction, etc.

Not sure how other carriers work... but with AT&T... if you get a phone that's defective and return it back to them within the 14 day Return Period you can request a replacement BUT.... if you decide you want a full refund... they WILL charge you a restocking fee. Their reasoning is.. if the phone is defected you'll get a replacement not full refund.

Sometimes I think a lot of people didn't really want the phone to begin with and just fall for the hype and end up returning it. I don't get why people like the OP makes these threads. So you return the phone, big deal, do you need validation by seeing who else is returning it? Mind you, I'm on my 2nd 6P after doing an RMA. My first one had build issues. It had the "bulge". The 2nd one is perfect and I haven't experienced any of the issues described in this thread. The OP could have simply RMA'd the thing if the screen was his issue. That leads me to think, maybe he didn't want it in the first place.

What is the bulge? My 6p is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow.

Some who returned will be ordering again once they realize the scare tactics were false!

I wonder how big of an issue this rear glass cracking will turn out to be. The low light shots from the camera on the 6p really had me close to selling my MXPE and getting a 6p, then the reports about the rear glass came out. I live in philly and it gets cold as crap in the winter and I work outside, can't imagine just plugging a cold phone in and then the glass cracking out of no where. Hopefully they figure out whatever it is or its just a few random incidents, which I doubt.

I have a 2014 Camaro. Streaming music over bluetooth worked fine for a few days and now it there is interference sound every minute or two. Haven't really tested it out long term but I had the same issue with my Note 4 at the start before it worked pretty well after.

Mine is horrendous with the my link system in the camaro. Taking it in to have it looked at and if not software update or fix, the phone is going back. Tested on a Nissan Sentra 2015, $10 bluetooth speaker and 2013 Nissan Altima and stream flawless from one song to another. On my camaro i can't even listen to a song. Every other second it skips and cuts out regard of good or bad signal or on wifi. This is the only phone I ever had an issue with camaro. Lg g3, Samsung s3, nexus 6, One plus one, One plus two all work flawless. Will update once I hear back from dealer.

The purpose of me starting this thread is no different than why you made posts in this thread (and in other threads)...or no different than why you even joined this community to begin with...that purpose is to have dialogue and exchange input/thoughts/experiences.

It really isn't complicated.

Perhaps others can look at you sharing a post stating that you returned one 6P for another one...as validation of your love for a 6P. I started a thread and you made a post in it...any real difference?

Fact is this thing has quality control issues and sharing that fact opens up dialogue. What are you? The validation thought police? Lol

You have every right to share your experience with us and I'm glad that you did.
