I think those who had Note 7s should have 1st dibs for the Note 8 w/ their carriers

Re: So For All Those Contractually Locked In...

Because Samsung went way out of their way to make it right with the vast majority of consumers and it is strange that some people feel entitled to take even more from Samsung.
Like he said, it didn't go that smoothly for everyone. Ironically enough, those of us that purchased directly from Samsung got put through the ringer. They sure did NOT go way out of there way for us - quite the opposite. They made it nearly impossible.

Right that's why I said majority. For those that it sucked for, hopefully the free gifts help to alleviate but I can't see a reason to give out another billion in discounts when the issues been closed almost 9 months. If Samsung chooses to do something, great but no one should expect them to or worse, feel entitled to more.

Yeah, I got a free SD Card. Not much alleviation when you consider the screen protectors and case I paid for, along with the battery backpack I got stuck with (also purchased through Samsung Direct). They wore me down and I finally gave up on ever getting my money back from that. Hours and hours wasted, and at one point they had both of my returned phones, AND my full price that I paid for the phone - that they took 2 months to refund. And if I didn't spend hours on the phone over and over again, I never even would have gotten that. No - many of us got pretty screwed by that fiasco. The SD card did not cover my accessory losses let alone my wasted time and aggravation. Don't worry, I am not expecting anything - I know they really don't care what happened to me. They should be ashamed of themselves and how they handled customers who purchased from them directly. Trust me, I could fill pages telling you how inept and even deceitful they were. Really don't want to waste even more time on it now. It sucked.

Carriers definitely did a better job than Samsung themselves. Sorry that your experience sucked :(

Man and people like to hate on carrier stores -- but this is why people go through them.

I returned the phone to the store, got my cash back, returned cases to amazon, and got my money back. All of it was pretty painless. On top of that the extra money to the bill was nice.

I won't be glad if there's no discount. I'm always looking for deals.
However, I don't feel owed by Samsung, either. I'll take a discount on anything. Retail is for suckers. I only pay it when absolutely necessary.
