I unlocked..Want to flash 4.0.4

Okay ill use the download folder once the file stops downloading its almost done

(College Internet blows)

Good alright so now that the file is on your sd card in that folder, turn the phone off again, and restart it in the bootloader mode.

then, go back to terminal - make sure you are at "cd adb-fastboot" folder.

enter this command:

fastboot devices

--- this should bring up your galaxy nexus device in the terminal window.

BTW you have a good charge on the phone? like, more than 30 percent?

Where on long island btw? i go to hofstra law

/fastboot devices

/fastboot boot recovery.img

(now your phone should boot into recovery mode)

on the phone in recovery mode - go to backup and restore - backup - make a new backup

this will take a while, but it's a safety measure so you should just do it because otherwise if there is a snag the fix will take too long. and it's late. and my gf wants to go to bed. and i do what she says most of the time. :)

..... now we wait for it to make your backup.

when that is done, still in recovery mode, go to Wipe Data/Factory reset. Select yes when it asks you to do it.

After that, select Erase Cache - select yes.

After that, select Advanced then select Clear Dalvik Cache - and select yes.

After that, select go back to get back to the main menu.

In the main menu, select Install zip from sd card.

Then select Choose zip from sd card.

Then, select the Download folder, and then select the 4.04 rom you moved over there.

That will install for a minute, and then you select Reboot system now.

uhh a bunch of stuff should it just be the recovery.img

edit: when I just type fastboot it says command not found

the adb folder is on your desktop right?

type this:

~/Desktop/adb-fastboot/fastboot boot recovery.img

bc you renamed the recovery-crespo-whatever.img to recovery.img right?

after that, I highly recommend you read this thread: http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...backup-restore-install-roms-galaxy-nexus.html

it's an excellent guide that will explain how to make backups, flash recovery (the easy way), and flash roms/etc.

Once you have this 4.04 rom up and running, you should probably download rom manager and flash recovery (because the way we just used recovery isnt going to stick). Flashing recovery and making a new backup will be a good idea when you are done with what we're doing here.

Am i gonna be rooted after this? i already have rom manager paid for since I rooted my Dinc back in the day
