I want Froyo now

I thought it was stupid how that originally the Dinc was suppose to be the first to get Froyo....now we don't even have a date.

Where in the world did you get that idea from? The Motorola Droid was supposed to be the first (after the Nexus), not the DInc. It has been widely believed that the presence of Sense would delay the Froyo release.

I'm not quite sure what to make of this yet, but the "Unofficial" Verizon twitter account that originally posted about the late July/early August 2.2 Inc update appears to have been banned: Twitter / Suspended

Does this mean that they were lying about who they were all along, and that Verzion came down hard on them?

Um the only official VZW twitter account is VZWOffers. This was some guys who worked for one if the indirect resellers.

I went into a Verizon Wireless Zone store last night and asked about Froyo for Dinc, and the Cust Service guy there had absolutely no idea when... He had heard about Froyo for the Droid, and X, but no word on Dinc.

I get the feeling something would've been leaked about it if that were true. We knew the exact date the OTAs for the Moto Droid and the Evo a few days before they happened. A rumor that it's going to start tomorrow coming out of nowhere just seems unlikely.

These CSR may be the "leaks" since all the rumors pointed to today, I've got a feeling that we will see something today.

I believe that as a "service" type business it's important for Verizon to maintain credibility, with that in mind it would seem reasonable for them to not commit to any definite release date, that way if something goes wrong and they are not able to make it, they won't be called liars.

Because you haven't gotten it yet doesn't mean that they haven't started the roll out yet! I doubt if we will all get it at the same time. I was told by a Verizon rep that it would start today and take about a week to complete! Hope he knew what he was talking about!

I spoke to someone form the Presidents office and he told me it will be sometime in next 30 days, maybe 45. They cant be sure at this time. They also offered me some help with the problem I have (that the update will fix) to help me while I wait. This help is costing Verizon a few bucks so I doubt he would do that if it was starting today.

The minor issues Droid and Evo had with their updates dont bid well for a quick release for us.

Back to waiting!

I'm not obsessing over it tbh. I like the way it works w/o Froyo, granted I do want it, but its not as if the device is suffering from functionality the way my Storm was, so I was desperate for something to make it work better. Not quite the same issue with my Dinc, I love it as is and it looks fabulous!
