Now the update for Moto Droid users has been halted due to a bug that cropped up. Looks like they were the guinea pigs for Verizons Froyo rollout. Sigh...

Am I looking forward to this update? Yes, absolutely I am. However, I would rather have an update that works properly than a blackberry type update that doesn't work at all except to fix 1 bug and cause 100 more bugs. Let them make sure everything works and works well, then release the update to us. I am still enjoying this phone and can't stop being amazed at it. The DINC is an awesome phone and can only get better.

I am enjoying the device but NOT the phone. I wish they had just released the fixes first and waited on froyo.

I agree. That is one of the many reasons I left BB. Always seem to put out the worst updates. I can be patient if I know they'll get it right.

Just got back from tech support at our local Verizon store and ask them when the update would happen. He spent some time on his computer and then said it would start Friday AM but may take a week before everyone has it! Hope he's correct!

In all seriousness though, this thing is still a million times better than the original storm I had to deal with for a year and a half. I can wait a couple weeks for Froyo.

I called yesterday, playing the naive DINC owner and asked if i will need to come in the store on friday for the update. the rep said that the 2.2 will be coming out on friday and it will be an OTA. ive read many of these testimonies , lol being a bb user to a current DINC user, but never got an answer sooo, maybe there is hope for tomorrow!

Tomorrow, Friday, The 6th of August.
All these dates seem to coincide with the VZW tweet and the first drop date that hit the web.
If it starts Friday (tomorrow) hope I see it tonight at midnight.

I get the feeling something would've been leaked about it if that were true. We knew the exact date the OTAs for the Moto Droid and the Evo a few days before they happened. A rumor that it's going to start tomorrow coming out of nowhere just seems unlikely.

Both were being rushed out. Sprint wanted to be the first and Moto did not want to be left behind. This is not coming out of nowhere, it has been talked about for some time.
