I was reading where the honor 8 won't get Oreo?

I don't think they'll get confused with the Mate and P line. Mate line is their more phablet line up. like Note to Samsung. The Honor brand can confuse them tho
Some people have a tendency to think in terms of apple phones. For example, they might say that they have a Samsung 8. With Huawei... There's a mate 10 and a p10. They could just say they have a Huawei 10.what phone do they have?

Didn't they say they would provide 2 years of software updates?
That's always what I thought but reading through hear and other honor 8 forums I've read a lot where people have said we might not see Oreo. This was why I was curious as just bought the honor 8 after deciding to finally just settle down to one device instead of buying and selling all the time testing out new gear. It became expensive and I had owned the honor 8 before so I knew I liked it enough for it to become my long term daily driver but reading all these posts that states doubt that we will see Oreo update was a huge let down to me if this were to be true. I just don't see Huawei honor making a poor business decision like that and not following through with their initial promise to the US customers that bought this honor flagship. Especially with Huawei honor not far from entering in the US full blown. That would mean they would have let their entire US customer base down then entering in to the US on a bad note. That being said I think we will get it but it will come very late to us. Plus they've yet to even release any info on their next US devices to be released if there even are any which again would be a bad US business decision. I hope we do get the update even if it's late coming. I also hope they continue to release at least one honor flagship device like the Honor 8 and one Huawei device like the Mate 9. I just don't see them letting down their entire US customer base they've built and not follow through with their two year updates promise. They did not become number two in the world based off poor business decisions. They've stated that they are definitely entering in the US market sometime soon but they've also stated that the US is not high on their priority list according to an article I read a while back so I really don't know what to expect at this point. If they don't follow through with their two year promise on the honor 8 they will loose me as a faithful customer and Huawei Honor is my favorite company too. Let's just hope they stay true to their initial promise in regard to the honor 8. Hopefully we will hear something before Christmas or they will announce a couple new releases.

Honor (Huawei) are balking now as far as updates.
I feel they consider OS or security updates for US owners very low priority at present.
Why buy Huawei products with no real promise of support for current owners?

Yes they did make that promise. Whether or not it happens on the honor 8 will be seen, but it didn't happen on the honor 5x

Price could be another motivator.

They still offer great products. If price is right, I think many folks won't matter too much about that stuff. Especially older folks

This is exactly why lots of ppl like Google/Pixel phones. Updates come FAST. but I still love my H8.
