I Was Wrong, nobody can do what Google does.

Samsung midrangers are good. But are they best at anything like Google?
You are absolutely right. Samsung mid rangers are just that... The6 decent mid-range phones they're not the best that anything. They are purely for customers on a budget. Now at the pixel 3A phones out there is not much of a reason to buy them.

I think a pure Android experience with an excellent camera and timely software updates is a beautiful thing.

I couldn't agree with you more.

With how much the user experience is growing to be defined more and more by software, being assured of the latest and greatest for a 3 year span is an incredible intangible that is generally not remarked on by those who still live in a 'spec-define-the-phone' world rather than evolving as the nature of phones has.

That's not to say there isn't value in better specs - there absolutely is - but when it comes down to using the phone, one doesn't use a spec. One uses a service whose performance is defined by the combined system of the specs and software driving it.

Wonderfully written. The software is what drives the phone - the specs help to promote it.

Yes...although it’s not a big thing. They usually have quite a few nice add-ones, like a headphone jack, expandable storage, Samsung Knox/Secure Folder/Pass etc that no other manufacturer has together. Ultra-wide cameras are also kinda unique to Samsung mid-rangers.

Oh and I nearly forgot, Samsung phones (including mid rangers) have the best displays in the world, hands down. If that wasn’t true then Apple, Xiaomi and Google wouldn’t be using them.

Samsung makes great screens but Apple and Google only started using them recently. I believe iPhone 8 for Apple and the Pixel 2 and 3XL.

True. However, that was because Apple didn’t use OLED displays until the 2017, sticking with LCDs for some odd reason. Not too sure about Google but seeing as to how mediocre the LG display was in comparison I’m pretty sure they’re sticking with Samsung (they also use them on the 3a).

While I agree with having expandable storage and display as unique features, the software is a no no on the midrangers. You can't expect any updates let alone any major ones. You stay with what you get out of the box forever. Also, the cameras on the midrangers are really bad (at least when compared to the Pixels).

But I'll give you display. Samsung midrangers have really nice displays. But then, so does Pixels except the 2 XL. All Pixels have excellent excellent displays. So that makes it software camera AND screen for the pixel.

We discussed this above in the thread. I stand by my point. US is only constructing these allegations in order to hurt the Chinese giants.

Could we fight about politics in the political forum, please? This is a Pixel forum.

After having my 3XL 128, I still wish it had a headphone jack and expandable memory slot. Otherwise, I enjoy the phone.

Honestly, on my 3XL I don't miss a headphone Jack or expandable memory. In the past, I've had memory cards with corrupt data on them. And I barely ever use wired headphones either. I've used Bluetooth ever since they first came on the market.
