ICS Leak problems?

I figured those of us having issues could post here. So far I love it, one issue is random restarts. Seems to be limited to home screen mostly. It reboots to the beats logo and starts up. Sometimes it happens a lot then it stops. Can't find a trigger point.

I am not rooted and basic phone. Anyone else? Any suggestions?

This might be Sense crashing. There doesn't seem to be a reliable way to fix the Sense crashes. Since you started the topic, what ICS version are you on? The latest (and semi-confirmed as the OTA version) is 3.14.605.10

Might try a factory reset or redo the ruu.

try flashing the update, again. I am running the latest leak, and, it runs great.

3.14.605.10 runs like butter on my phone. No show stopping problems, just two minor niggles:

  • Can't get the calendar to start in Agenda. Previously, I would edit tabs, put Agenda to the far left, and from there the Calendar would always start in Agenda view. No so anymore. (Kind'ov a bummer, but can live with it.)
  • Browser url entry: used to tap there and the whole url would be highlighted so I could type a new destination. Not anymore. I have to delete the contents manually before I can enter my desired site. (Easily worked around thanks to Swype's select all gesture, but I'd prefer not to have to learn a specific thing for just one app.)

I only flashed the RUU once (didn't know it was a common recommendation to flash twice) and so I think this thread is a good idea. I'll flash again (twice this time) if it turns out no one can reproduce these little annoyances.. I'm glad this thread was started.

Beyond all that, everything else is fantastic. Radios are much improved and are one of the most pleasant surprises of the upgrade. Handoffs are cleaner and there are substantial improvements with how my phone performs in this area. The increases in data throughput feel like night and day. Speed went from 10-12k down/3-5k up to 15-17k down/4-6k up. Not drastic, but the latency was usually around 150-180ms, and now that's down to 80-90 routinely. Again not drastic, but I think it's this metric combined with the first that has added up to demonstrate improved performance. Add to that the upgrades under the hood with ICS and I suspect the rest is history.

The entire phone feels more robust, Sense is more stable, and the 2D hardware acceleration implemented in ICS finally gives the Rezound iPhone-like smoothness. Overall, everything is more responsive and the graphical transitions are visually appealing now that they don't stutter anymore.

Very, very happy with the upgrade. This is the phone that should have been released in the first place.

Still having issues with the phone resetting. Last time was in twitter. How do you flash twice? I tried didn't work

Flash the RUU literally twice. Run through the process once, then repeat.

I did and it did not flash, it went as far as loading and then stopped. This is why I was asking to see if there is something more wrong.

MrSmith317 did an great write-up on this topic: http://forums.androidcentral.com/rezound-rooting-roms-hacks/172783-how-flash-leaked-ruu.html

Here's a basic rundown of what to expect when flashing:

  • When you do the initial flash, only some of the items on the list get updated, and this is done in a peculiar order. (This is the firmware update - it also includes an upgrade for HBOOT.)
  • The phone reboots automatically so the new HBOOT can load. This can take some time and the screen *might* flicker or display some weirdness. The automatic reboot and associated delay is completely normal and to be expected -- be patient. I had to give someone bad news when they did a battery pull during the this time. (Spoiler alert: phone was irrevocably bricked.)
  • The flash begins again, though this time the list is checked off in order from top to bottom as the update progresses.
  • When it's done, the system prompts you to reboot.
  • Proceed with the reboot, but keep the volume down pressed as soon as the screen goes blank.
  • You'll go right back into the already upgraded HBOOT. You're prompted again, as before, to accept or decline the update; flash again from there.
  • When the RUU is finished processing, reboot normally. Enjoy your "new" phone. ;)

Hope this helps. :)

I already have it flashed on there, how do I do it again? Master reset?

No you don't need yo do anything but run the ruu again. It will reset everything on its own. Like I said, literally do the same process twice

Did you rename it correctly? If you did, did you check the MD5 of the download after you put it on the card? could be corrupted.

Yea I'm thinking the same, probably a bad download. It should let you run it even tho your locked and s-on because its the same. Try downloading it again maybe from a different source.
