So love my Dinc, got my wife a Dinc 2. Been waiting to upgrade and will be getting a Galaxy Nexus!

Will be holding onto this Dinc tho. When will we get an ICS rom?

Google will have to drop the code first, so the developers can get at it

I won't be surprised if we see a ROM based on the SDK, but those are usually pretty slow. Hopefully Google releases source this time around, if they pull a Honeycomb with this one, I will be very upset.

Google will release the code a few weeks after the phone releases, and then builds will start. There should be a solid ROM before year's end, if they get to work on it right away.. It'll be interesting to see if CM still supports a phone that's 18 months old, but even if they don't, others will.

I'm sure they will, they supported the g1 through Froyo. The OG Droid saw CM7. Plus our maintainer for CM has said he has no plans to leave the Incredible any time soon.

I would guess it's a question of hardware. Can ICS fit/run on a 1Ghz? I would assume the answer is yes. But we'll know soon enough.

Off topic warning...

Caught "Commando" with the Governator and Allysa Milano a few weeks ago on TV. There's a part in the movie when, after they think Arnie's dead or gone, one of the bad guys spots him in the mall and pretty much molests some woman for a dime to make a call from a pay phone to tell his boss Arnie ain't dead....it was hilarious to watch and I'm sure any younger viewers today would be very confused the entire display.

Not to totally derail the thread, but when I was a kid we still had 4 digit dialing for numbers in town. Then it went to the last digit of the exchange + 4. There was outrage in town over it for months! When it went to 7 digits for local calls people went APE!

My parents still live there and many "old timers" still give out their number as 9-xxxx to people. Freaks the young's out!

I'm 99 and 44/100's percent sure CM will come up with an ICS build for the DInc, and equally sure that GB is the end of the road for HTC builds.

I've never root none of my phones before, but if HTC refuses to update the Evo 4g and Evo 3G... then the time for rooting would be inevitable. Hahahaa.
