I wasn't the the spokesperson ensuring ICS on the Razr 6 weeks after Google relased it, bud.
If they flipped their position to "Well actually guys, we don't know when. And we don't even know IF", then I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one bothered.

Entitlement: Is the RIGHT to GUARANTEED benefits or programs.

If you are entitled to something, you should receive it. So, how do you not understand why "phone enthusiasts" feel entitled? When a company guarantees something, you are instantly justifably entitled to it. Also, we paid probably over $100.00 (199.99 in my case) for a product. It shouldn't be all that shocking to you that we want it to be the best it possibly can when we fork out the dough for it.

Now if these companies hadn't mentioned ICS, and we bought this phone just for the things we liked, then yes.....your point is 110% valid. BUT we bought this phone (Razr MAXX) over a month after ICS was released. So it's perfectly fair to step back and say......."no, I wont buy a phone that is released with an old Operating System." And then the company says "But wait! We will update it to ICS very very soon" so we decide to buy.

To me, that is VERY VERY close to a "Bait and Switch". I know legally it isn't, but it's about as close as you can get. When you're dealing with 2 year plans, and even shorter lifespans for a phone, having to wait 6 months to get what they promised is quite significant.

You're implying anyone here is angry. People need to stop jumping to conclusions and throwing the word "entitlement" every time someone wants better service. I didn't know there was a Motorola Defense Force out there. I figured they retired when the whole "we'll unlock bootloaders by the end of this year...just kidding!" thing died down. They expect my money and commitment to their products, and they have it, but this is what I would like in return.
Anyway, I feel sorry for Bionic owners, and I do feel like they were left out in the cold. But everyone who reads up on Android knew the phone was a dud before it even launched.

I somewhat agree with the previous statement ..... I paid 299.00 for something that I was told that a new operating system was coming out "next month" and this was in February......

I do not think it is Bait and switch as much as it is misleading / false information by a sales reps inside the Verizon corporate store....

We were swayed by these misleading / false statements, and in some cases if the company would have been a little more honest in saying: " we do not know when it is going to be released" then maybe we wouldn't have as many Droid Maxx owners who are "upset".

Combine this with the "New" Shared Tiered plan, yeah....I think we are getting hosed.

This from big red himself. If something goes wrong with the soak it could be delayed but they anticipate the downloads to start 6/27. Boy when they say end of Q2 they mean it. At least it's here lets hope next week we are not crying how it screwed up our handsets.

Location has absolutely nothing to do with updates. They are issued by esn.

If you were to take the time (it would probably not be worth it, but still) and re read exactly how this all started, then you would see what i'm saying. I jumped in, because the majority of you can't accept someone else having an opinion.

If you are happy with your phone, congrats! So am I. The Maxx is an AWESOME device with Gingerbread or whatever else. BUT, just because some of us are excited for ICS and are a little frustrated we had to wait this long, doesn't mean you guys need to go ape shiz all over us. Like I said, if you're happy, that's awesome. But you don't have to take that happiness and try to shove it down someone else's throat by calling them "whiners" just for having a different opinion. And I wasn't "whine whine whine whine whine" ing in my post like you said I was. I was trying to descend to your level so you could understand what some of us were trying to say.

Giving definitions to a word that you misused does not constitute whining. If you were embarrassed by your attempt to use a larger word than you were capable of, move on! Don't attack others for your shortcomings.

You continue being apathetic about corporate greed, and I will continue my expectations of great service. That way, we're both happy and no one has to get nasty on the internet.
