If It's The 24th, Isn't It Time For An Announcement And Preorders?

I'm starting to get pretty tired of reading these kind of posts. NO, they did not give an official public statement of when it would be released. But most of us agree that there WAS at least one internal release date that was missed. It was conveyed to more than one vendor and pulled at the very last second. They were not "rumored" dates, they were specific dates that vzw told companies selling the phone that it would be released.

How do you figure it was not a rumor? It has all been rumors. Show me a link that something was "OFFICIALLY" announced because other then that it is 100% pure speculation. Nothing, nowhere, it has not happened yet and that is why people are so angry. He said she said no matter who they are does not matter one bit and for sure does not count for anything official. There were no specific dates ever set that VZW said they could start selling it. When you work as a manager at best buy for 6 years you begin to see how the inventory system works. The fact that there has never been one single street date in that system more then backs that up. Nice try tho FoRizzle! Anything else??

getting upset and mad at Verizon that an internal date was not met is patently ABSURD.

They did not tell you a date. This is why they did not tell you a date.

EXACTLY! This info is not meant to be seen. It is their company and can change that all the time for whatever reason and not share it. These are internal and mean nothing and are far from official. I really don't see why people want to rush this, I guess so they can b*tch and moan because the device was not ready (aka BB 9530)

This is exactly the reason why I feel that they are doing the right thing. If it's not ready, it's not ready. I bought the BB9530 the day it was released and still have it (I'm on my 5th). I still haven't forgiven myself, nor will I ever forgive BB/RIM.

lol, I hear ya on the Storm 1 fiasco. Still, they should say that it's not ready for prime time just yet, instead of silence. "You'll know when we tell you" is bad customer relations.

But if they do that they have the problem of people questioning how good the device is. If its a production delay people question if its built well or was slapped together just to get it out. Software, "oh it will be buggy because they rushed it since it was already delayed". They really can't win. I just don't get angry unless they miss an official date.

Amazon, BB, etc... It was most likely supposed to be released and missed. That's my only point. I'm not trying to choose sides here, Im just slightly irritated by reading posts stating that there never was a release date when nearly every one of us generally believe that there was supposed to be (no it wasnt official to the public). When we talk about the TB missing its date, that's the idea that most are referring to. We aren't trying to say it was official to the public and we get your argument. BUT... Keeping everything behind closed doors doesnt necessarily rid them of all wrong doing.

Im not mad at VZW for anything other than lack of info. I realize that the info was not meant for public for this reason (mostly). Im just saying that there were dates that were probably missed, incidentally or purposely. I might be frustrated if they announced a date and missed it, but at least then I would know that they are trying and that it would be out asap after that date. And if they announced a date and then said it was delayed for 2 weeks, I could go on living my life and looking forward to the new date, rather than scouring the web for hours on end for info.

Let's extrapolate some of the logic here:

"So what if my wife slept with someone else while I was at work? The bed was made when I got home so IT DIDN'T HAPPEN"

"See... you're tumor is on your neck, so I believe you're dying. They keep showing ME this black and white picture that looks like a Halloween decoration and telling me there is something wrong with me. Nope, I don't believe it for a secon....GAAAAHHHH!"

"Tosh.0 was on last night? Crap I didn't know. What? OF COURSE I saw the commercials, but Comedy Central NEVER made a public announcement on it's website that it was Wednesday@10, so I just didn't tune in"

You cant even bring yourself to call it the storm??:p

Verizon In store Pre-orders

I walked into a local Verizon store to ask for discount I get from work and to my surprise they had ton's of HTC Thunderbolt ads. They also had a display demo of HTC Thunderbolt. I got to talking to the rep and found out to my surprise that Verizon stores don't do 1 year contracts but as well no phone upgrade on 1 year contract. (SORRY IF THIS OLD NEWS) Furthermore when a 1 year contract is up you can't transfer your phone number to the next contract. However they were taking in store pre-orders which is 100 dollar deposit yet to find out if the 100 dollars is refundable. Lastly you can take this as grain of salt but they said 4G will be unlimited for $30 and the phone may not cost $250.

P.S (All stores may not be doing pre-orders)

Unfortunately sorry for the mistake this happen at a "premium retail store not a CORPORATE store.

I swear if they get rid of one year and now have forced us to not have annual for high paying customers then I will be royally pissed off! No every two either if they keep us in 2 year contracts is bs too.
