If It's The 24th, Isn't It Time For An Announcement And Preorders?

yeah i will take this with a grain and not be hasty-but if they didn't offer one years i would be pretty pissed

Wait, wait... what?

Don't take offense to this, but I'm going to 100% doubt this... it just doesn't make sense.

doesnt make sense? are you kidding? it doesnt make sense to you, it makes perfect sense for VZW. are you not seeing a trend here? they know they have the best network and are using it to THEIR advantage. they just took away NE2, how much sense did that make? none, unless your VZW!!!!!

I have my pre-order at best buy so right now I don't no which would be better to buy it from best buy or verizon?
I currently have a BB Preorder as well, but plan on buying at VZW. I want the insurance on this phone from VZW. I have had several phones replaced through them and could not be happier with the service. I've read some stuff on BB's insurance and it is less than desirable. So until VZW announces it, I'm keeping my preorder at BB

i just went to VZW.com and selected iphone, new account, their are only two contract options month to month @ $749 and 2yr @ $299. that should be a pretty definitive answer.

Try another phone. VZW doesn't do 1-year's on iphones.

I will have to look into the insurance.

True I forgot to mention that this was what they were told meaning the reps. Their major was not their to clarify the issue. I will find out more tomorrow.

I was on verizon's site yesterday and today- saw droid x and the incredible for month to month, 1 year, and 2 year

10-4 just did it. i still think it is a 100% possibility that they will eliminate 1yr. they are probably taking a hint from the iphone.

I sure hope they don't do that. I'm not doing a 1 year this time only because I have another upgrade available exactly one year from now off another line but I want to start doing 1-years then. I don't think their doing away with it just because of the iphone...VZW just treats it differently. Hence why their insurance is also double what the androids are.

It doesn't make sense because of this:

Keeping Your Telephone Number When You Change Your Service Provider

They cannot "keep your number" ... by law.

And it doesn't make sense for logical reasons. Why would they not want you to be able to keep in contact with people when renewing your contracts? I mean, it makes no sense for ANY reason. The NE2 stuff made sense financially. It saved them some money.

Exactly! How could anyone believe they wouldn't allow you to keep your number and what does that even have to do with NE2 lol

i dont get it, what in the heck does this have to do with anything? i never said they could keep your number. i also have no idea what your reference to keeping in contact has anything to do with what i stated. Sooo, you dont think it makes sense to VZW financially to have everyone locked into 2yr contracts vs 1yr? please explain the logic in that.

I'm guessing it's just a misunderstanding. You might want to reread my original post. I'm questioning the fact that OP says that you won't get to keep your phone number when you renew your 1-yr contracts. It doesn't make sense financially, legally ... uh, it just fails the common sense test.

Edit: Basically, I'm also going to have to question the rest of the information based on that. Someone misunderstood something down the line or someone is making stuff up. Again, no offense meant to the OP or the reps... there's just something wacky about the information that screams "I'm making this up for the shock value."

wow, big misunderstanding. i gotcha. i was speaking directly in reference to the issue of losing 1 yr contract option.
